The reception staff are really nice and helpful but it could do with a spruce up. Compared to other hostels we have visited in Argentina and Uruguay it is not the best value but for the area it isnt too bad at all. We had a room upstairs where there was some road noise but it wasnt all that bad really.

We (me and my wife) stayed for 5 days and everything's was well but there was some little problems. The people of reception are great. The rooms are good. But our room was near from the street and sometimes the noise of cars and persons talking inside and outside of the hotel bothered. And our room was not cleaned. There are maid there to do that, but we woke up late all days. However, the rooms should be cleaned. Our mistake not reclaim too. Luck for them that we are hygienic. Anyway, the hotel is safe and quiet and I recommend.

Cannot say we enjoyed our stay here. We only had 2 nights in Montevideo and our first night we got very little sleep as there were springs sticking up all over our mattress and the noise from the street outside made sure we got very little sleep (room 2). The next day we asked could we change and they gave us room 3, which still was right beside the street and the shower barely worked. The staff were reasonably helpful but we got the feeling they couldn´t really be bothered because it was low season. I´d imagine most hostels would be better than this and if we found it noisy in low season, I can´t imagine how loud it gets if there´s parties on in busy season. THe streets around the hostel are also quite dodgy at night. Don´t stay here.

Room Tip: Get a room that doesn´t face the street and if they give you rooms 2 or 3 say no straight away.

Stayed at the hostel for three nights, on a private double bed room. The first impression entrering the room was a mouldy smell, because the room had no window. Other than that, it was a nice stay. The beds are confrotable and the room is clean. The breakfast is fairly good, with fruits, cereals, bread and a special local touch, dulce de leche. The double bed rooms have windows and don´t smell mouldy, so they are a better pick.

Room Tip: The double bed private ensuite rooms are the only ones with a window
