This place was a real find and in my opinion the photo doesn't do it justice. I believe it was a former ambassadorial residence - certainly feels like it. Yes it's a couple of miles out of the city but I'm not sure I would have wanted to stay in the centre. We drove into Montevideo and parked with little problem although it was holiday time. Le Biblo is a couple of minutes from the beach and security is evident everywhere as it's where all the rich live. Good restaurants (not the cheapest) and a beach within ten minutes walk. Rooms not massive but decorated to American 5* quality and utterly sound proofed. You have a wonderful galleried lounge, library and swimming pool to yourself. The sort of place that shows the owner is well-travelled and understands what makes a first class experience.

Nice area for walking, only 15 mins away from airport and quality service. If you are a runner, the rambla is only 5 minutes away, it offers a great view! The property is beautiful, with nice dry balcony and pool.

I’ve stayed at Le Bibló hotel boutique last June during five nights and it was a very pleasant experience. Le Bibló is a different concept of a 5* hotel boutique. The idea is to make guests really feel at home. There are normally two persons (a.m. & p.m.) that take care of all your needs. There is no reception, no hassle, no noise, there is nothing that makes you feel that you are in a hotel. You can freely go throughout the house without having employees annoying you even with their sole presence. When you arrive to the hotel, while they take you to the Suite they deal with the luggage. When you are ready to do the check in, you let them know and somebody will come to the Suite to do it in a very efficient and quick manner (no forms to fill, etc.). They will take care of everything without disturbing the guest. At any moment you can either sit in the garden to work or surf on the net (there is WIFI throughout the hotel and it is free of charge), or use the swimming pool, or sit in the library to read a book, or enjoy the visit of your guests in the library, etc. If you decide to go out, but you want to have lunch or dinner in the hotel, before leaving you choose from the menu a meal and you let them know at what time you will be back. Once you are back to the hotel, the meal will be ready waiting for you. If you rent a car (like in my case) they give you a remote control to open the main entrance, you park your car, and you access the hotel. All in all, you really feel like it is your house. Last but not least, the hotel is very safe, as besides the alarms and the video surveillance, there is 24 hours a security guard in the main entrance.
The hotel is located in one of the best neighborhoods in Montevideo. Though in an upscale neighborhood (Carrasco) a very quiet and peaceful one, only 300 meters from the beach, about 15 minutes by car/taxi to other upscale neighborhoods (Pocitos and Punta Carretas). Walking distance to Arocena, a commercial street with all sort of shops, and several places to have a meal from McDonalds to elegant restaurants.
The hotel is a Victorian style mansion surrounded by beautiful gardens, it has been fully refurbished, tastefully furnished, the exquisite boiserie is very well maintained and it presently counts with four Suites. Suites are very spacious, very well equipped and maintained too, mattress, sheets, pillows, towels, curtains and carpets are impressively clean (see pictures attached). The oversized Italian marble bathroom features a separate shower and bathtub and is appointed with luxury bath amenities (l’Occitane).
As a demanding client, that always stays in luxury chains hotels worldwide like Four Seasons, Radisson Blu, Starwood Preferred Guest, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, etc. I highly recommend this hotel. In early August I am flying back to Montevideo for a two-week stay and I have already booked one of the Suites!

I was at the Biblo hotel for just one night on the way to Carmelo and it was perfect, great service, well locate in a calm street close to a shopping area outside city center. The room was impeccable, huge bathroom all in marble with L'ocitane products and the breakfast with fresh berries, fruits and juices was just what I needed. Totally worth the price
