It certainly deserves a visit. A very traditional place that a few years ago moved from it's original smaller and more modest location to a beautiful building in front of Plaza Matriz, just across the Cathedral and the Cabildo, the Spanish colonial government location of 18th century Montevideo. It's not unusual at all to see well known businessmen or politicians having lunch at La Corte. The menu and food are a bit above average and so are the prices. Young waiters and waitresses with an I-don't-care attitude but happy to talk to customers about anything as if they were old friends. Don't get it wrong, that's the Uruguayan way and deeply rooted in the country's culture. Basically, it's what you'll get at any or at least most hotels and restaurants in Montevideo.
