The view, the place, the rooms everything was ideal!!! The food was amazing, im peruvian and very picky about peruvian food but here the food was amazing. The bar is also amazing with kts terrace.
The pool was a little cold for mi taste but its so beautiful you forget about it, it also has an outdoor and an inside part
As a bonus we meet the Peruvian president who was staying there

This is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in the world. From the moment you drive in the gate you can tell you are in a special place. Then you see the place and you are sure. Then the room and it blows you away, how beautiful. It is so beautiful in the room and then you go outside and you see the setting outside with the mountains and the river flowing rapidly past the hotel and it takes your breath away. This hotel has such a great dining room and the food is beautiful and the staff are fantastic and they really know how to put you at ease and make you feel at home. The spa and swimming pool area is absolutely beautiful and the staff attentive and very professional. They know you are in a different environment but they put you at ease straight away and it makes the stay so much better.

Room Tip: You will find it very hard to find any problem with this hotel. If you do you will never be happy anywhere.

Very good service and food. The service is far better and much faster then what you normally expect in Peru. Facilities and spa treatment is excelent. A little far away from everything, but it is definetly worth the steep price.

Tambo del Inka exceeded all of our expectations! From the minute you set foot inside this amazing property, you know you are in a very special place. The setting is spectacular, the rooms beautiful and comfortable and the service was wonderful. We departed from the train station on their property to start our Machu Picchu experience and wished we were returning after our wonderful trip to the ruins. Returning to this sanctuary and taking advantage of the fantastic spa would have been perfect after our hike up Wayne Picchu!

Room Tip: Request a room on the river side.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for choosing Tambo del Inka while in Urubamba.

It is really conforting to read your comments on your stay with us. Happy to realize that you did have a goregous time while in our resort.

In fact, being located in the middle of the Sacred Valley and having our own private train station gives all our guests an easier access to other towns, communities and ruins nearby.

Thank you for bringing the Spa issue to my attention. I have already passed on the information to the coorporative area and they are working on it.

Thank you again for your preference and sure hope to host you again in time.

We stayed at Tambo del Inka for three nights during our three week trip to Peru. For comparison, we also stayed at Miraflores Park Hotel in Lima, Inkaterra Machu Picchu in Aguas Calientas, Inkaterra La Casona in Cusco, Titilaka at Lake Titicaca and Casa Andina Private Collection in Arequipa.

This was one of our favourite hotels of all of the ones we stayed in. Here are the things we liked the best:

- It is quite a big hotel, but we found it to have a lovely 'feel'. It didn't seem too busy when we were there and the vast majority of people only seemed to stay for one or two nights whilst visiting Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley and so during the day the hotel was very quiet. Because we were starting the Inca Trail after staying at Tambo del Inka and also had more nights to come in Cusco, we weren't in a rush to cram in as much sightseeing as possible and so wanted to make the most of the hotel facilities and relax a little - we had the pool and spa to ourselves the day we stayed around the hotel;

- the location and facilities are excellent. The hotel is situated in the town of Urubamba which we walked around easily and safely. Urubamba seemed very unspoilt - whilst there are a number of large chain hotels in the locality I suspect not many people actually leave them to go into the town and so it was nice to see a more traditional way of life not dictated by tourists. We had a pleasant meal in the town one evening and also found a wonderful bakery for lunch. In terms of facilities at the hotel, the pool is nice (if a little small and shady), the spa treatments are excellent and the restaurant and bar are both very good. There is also a handy little shop and free wifi;

- the food was brilliant. We had one of the best evening meals of our trip in the hotel and the breakfasts were definitely the best we had in Peru, both in terms of choice and quality. The service was a touch slow, but we were on holiday and so didn't mind at all; and

- the rooms are large and well appointed. They have a separate closet area, small living area and a separate shower and bath (always a good sign!). The rooms are not decorated in a traditional Peruvian way but are genuinely lovely and are obviously fairly new, as is the whole property.

We had originally booked to stay at Rio Sagrado but changed our reservation due to some negative reviews about building works, and we were very pleased that we did. The room quality and location of Tambo del Inka seemed to us to be far superior.

Overall we would highly recommend Tambo del Inka - try and stay for a few nights to make the most of it!

Thank you indeed for letting us share our magic with you.

In fact, being located in the middle of the Sacred Valley gives all our guests an easier access to other towns, communities and ruins nearby.

Let me inform you that our building was designed by architect Bernardo Fort Brescia and that the interior decor was made up by Caparra Studio together with local artisans.

Happy you did enjoy our novo andina food, our rooms, our staff, service and property.

Do look forward to hosting you again in time.
