“A highligh of our trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

In our visit to Machu Picchu, the sacred valley, cusco and Lima, The Tambo del Inka was the highlight of the trip.
The warm modern entry was extremely welcoming with a bar that was spectacular. The restaurant was nothing short of spectacular with a giant stone fireplace rising 30' plus above and hanging globes of light filtering through the space with equally tall glass window walls that were fantastic as well.
The food was over the top from the starters all the way through desserts. Every bit of it was fantastic for each of our 4 family members. Nothing but comments of the best food they have had in a long time. The Guinea Pig was fantastic as was the Alpaca and even the lunches were great with both Alpaca and beef burgers.
Saving the best for last, the rooms were once again, over the top. large spacious with wonderful mood lighting, extremely comfortable luxurious feather beds, stereo systems, direct TV, and a very unique modern bath setup with central floating underlie vanities and full height glass dividing walls to the spa/shower on one side and the toilet and bidet room on the other. Extremely well done and that is from an Architects perspective. The rooms also had full height sliding glass walls in natural woods.
I can't say enough good things about it. I saw all the high end hotels and resorts in the valley. None of them had a better location or had the atmosphere of Tambo del Inka.
If your going to the sacred valley, do yourself a favor and stay here. You won't regret it. It was well worth the few dollars more we spent.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the fountain areas had great morning light. The other side is nice too but faces the h...

Good morning,

Thank you for choosing Tambo del Inka; part of the magnificent ensemble of the Luxury Collection!

Over happy to read your words and appreciation on our property, staff, food, oulets and service.
Thank you indeed for your kind and honest well welcomed comments.

Let me inform you that our resort was designed by architect Bernardo Fort Brescia and the interior decor was made up by Studio Caparra together with peruvian artisans.

Our location in the middle of the Sacred Valley is also a plus from where you have direct access to ruins and other several communities around.

Once again, thank you for your preference and hope to have the chance to host you again in time.

This by far is one of my favorite hotels of all time. I loved the decor in the lobby and the rooms. When I was there with my family, it seemed as if it was not very crowded, we had the entire pool to ourselves. The grounds are beautiful and being right next to the river is delightful. A short walk across the street is a wonderful market. Not much else to do in the town, a great stop on your way to Machu Picchu. Would definitely go back again some day if I am in that part of the world.

Room Tip: There is a river in the back of the hotel, so if you like to hear water noises ask a room in the rea...

We stayed here for three nights during a visit to the Sacred Valley. First off, I was a little concerned that the property would be out in the 'boonies'. However, it is across the road from the quaint village of Urubamba where you can find alternative places to eat. We walked to the main bus station and arranged private taxi to visit local sites. Taking the train from here i expensive, but they do have a Peru Rail ticket office where you can purchase tickets for other segments. The hotel is gorgeous, and during our stay at the end of January, fairly deserted. There was a staff to guest ratio of twenty to one we thought. Nonetheless, with our Platinum status, we were upgrade to a giant suite that overlooked the adjacent river, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfasts are outstanding, the surrounding grounds are lovely, there are enough local sites - Moray circles, salt mines, polstoy - to keep you busy for a few days. Or just kick back and relax. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms would be outstanding.

This hotel is simply lovely. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed. Amenities like hot tubs, flat screen tvs abound. The property is situated in the sacred valley, along the river. The gardens are filled with fuschia plants and hummingbirds. The pool is both indoor and out. We had sumptuous breakfasts every morning, and we very much enjoyed our dinner there. In fact, that meal and its tasting menu, was the favorite meal of our week-long trip to Peru. Many sites to see are very close by. We liked this hotel so much, we stayed in the sister hotel, the Libertad, in Cusco and enjoyed that too. Isaac was the hospitality host, and he brought us coco tea and welcomed us back by name every time, asking us what we did with our day. All in all a terrific base for sightseeing, and a luxury hotel that lives up to the name.

Please let me share my joy to see that your stay in our resort was extraordinary.

Thank you indeed for your kind and sincere words and comments to our staff and property itself. Isaac is happy to see that you did remember your stay with us and thanks you for your appreciation.

In fact, as you mention, our gardens with birds flying around, several colorful plants and flowers, our interior decor and construction itself make a pleasant place to stay in while in the Sacred Valley.

Thank you again for your feed back and hope to host you again in time.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved the hotel, its contemporary style and mostly - it's outstanding customer service. It is located idyllically along Urumba River, walking distance to the small village of Urumba. Whilst it does not offer any ruins or any MUST SEE attractions it is very authentic. The hotel served as a great location for us to explore Ollanyatambo with its impressive inca ruins and cute historic town, to visit Moray and Maras and just chill a day. There are horseback riding or MTB biking activities, water level was too high for river rafting.
We stayed in a deluxe suite w terrace giving us more space whilst traveling w 2 children. Whilst we did enjoy the Mtn views with snow covered peaks and fountains right out on our lawn the room facing the river -also being darker- had a more cozy feel. Both rooms were outstanding and very functional offering a walk-in closet such eliminating the hassle of having to walk around your suitcases. The service was superb - when all lounge chairs along pool side were occupied the attendant was quick to roll in an additional one for me.

Prior to our stay at this resort, I made a reservation for the hotel to pick us up from the train station. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up with the transportation reservations and we ended up taking a local taxi to the resort. Upon arrival I voiced my concern to the hotel. The staff was very apologetic, professional and more then made up for the mix-up. We were upgraded to a suite and provided free transportation to the airport after our stay. We couldn't have been happier with the way this was handled. The suite was fantastic and the overall design of the resort made us feel welcome. We enjoyed sitting on the bar deck, sipping tea and relaxing. There was also a nice walking track around the resort complex. I really wish we had more time at this resort. We can't wait to go back! Thank you to the staff for making this a wonderful stay.
