“Beauty where you least expect it”

This hotel was one that was included on a tour I took to Peru/Bolivia. It was a spectacular setting. So peaceful. A great place to relax while trying to aclimate to the altitude. The rooms were plenty large enough with a nice sitting area. Beds were fine. The TV was a bit confusing to operate, but at least there were instructions in the room. There was a safe in the room, however a key from the front desk was required to use it. We were greeted at reception with coca tea, which was nice. There was also a plate of sweets in our room. (Not sure if that is typical of the hotel or because of our tour.) The bathroom was okay, but nothing to write home about. The shower had a little mold, and the wooden window casing was a rotting a bit from the water that got on it from the shower. The food in the dining room was good, and since the hotel is in such a remote location, that is about your only choice for dining. There was decent gym avialable as well. All in all, this was a lovely place, and I would have no problems staying here again.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms can be quite a distance from reception and the dining room. If walking is an issu...

Off the beaten path, or should I say, dirt road.....the hotel is a welcome sight. Friendly staff, lovely lobby and restaurant area. Our room was a three storey, not quite convenient for luggage and middle of the night bathroom runs. It was comfortable with big duvet and blankets. Restaurant food was tasty, and some local Peruvian foods offered.
If not acclimatized to the altitude, you might have a challenge with all the stairs to your room.

We spent a night there with a tour on the way to Macchu Picchu. It was a beautiful place accessed by a very dreary road. One has to wonder what the nearby residents feel about the splendor just outside their little dusty town.

The grounds are beautiful, the restaurant excellent and the rooms are lovely. The only problem was walking to the room. In our case at least, it was many steps our first day at high altitude!

The steps are caused by a layout that makes the place attractive. It would have been a great place to spend a day getting acclimated, but Macchu Picchu beckons!

Room Tip: If it's your first day in the highland, ask for a room that's close to the lobby!

Can accommodate around 190 people in groups of 2 storey chalets, some a good few minutes walk from reception. Well appointed rooms with large comfortable beds. Beautiful well tended grounds. Restaurant a bit busy at peak times but food good and reasonably priced for a hotel of this quality in a remote location. Breakfast offers both hot and cold food. Efficient reception staff.

Room Tip: Low numbered rooms are nearer reception

We stayed in the way to macchu picchu for one night here. The garden is absolutely marvelous. It is big, with a lot of passages. You have the garden where they grow they're own oregano and other spices, there are two lamas that you can feed and walk through the gardenfor minutes enjoying different kind of colours. The chimney in the dining room is quite impressive and also the bar gives you a nice view of the garden and the mountains.
But other than the spa there is not much to do there. If you stay more than a couples of days that might be an issue.

The cabins seem quite isolated from each other with the private balcony but you can hear almost anything through the walls.
All in all it was a greatand peacefull experience staying here. The staff was very kind as well.

We stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were efficient and courteous as one expects in this standard of hotel so we were somewhat surprised to see a comment in the guest book referring "Fawlty Towers", some people can never be happy?!
Excellent food and wines served in the restaurant with great buffet breakfast. We would certainly stay again.

We stayed here for two nights before visiting Machu Picchu. This property is absolutely gorgeous--beautifully landscaped with stunning mountains as a backdrop. We had dinner both nights in the restaurant, which was very good. I didn't care too much for the alpaca, but the aji de gallina and the quinoa tabouli were excellent.

Our room was OK but there were a few things that bothered me. You have to go to the front desk to get a key to the safe, which was not a big deal, but it would be nice if they had a little sign to tell you this. The bed was comfortable but smelled like DEET, which made me wonder if the linens had been changed prior to our arrival. I tried not to think too much about that. The hardwood floor wasn't very clean either.

But the thing that bothered us (and our friends next door) the most was the noise from upstairs. We were on the ground floor, and any time anyone above us walked across the creaky floors in their room or moved around in their bed, it reverberated through the entire building. The first night the noise went on all night, and none of us were able to sleep. I had earplugs and TWO white-noise machines. You could not drown out this noise. I later wondered if maybe the hotel had checked in a large group in the middle of the night and put them on top of us. It was a little better for us the second night but not for our friends. I'd recommend getting a room on the second floor to avoid this.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the ground floor in Building 8.
