“An excellent option in Urubamba”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

This is a brand new property with a privileged location. To get there you have to go through Urubamba, into the Pumahuanca creek, a narrow ravine with native, tropical forest vegetation and eucalyptus trees. This is very convenient as it provides a very natural environment right next to town.
The building disposition imitates that of the Inca terracing system, topped with beautiful, well cared gardens crisscrossed by streams for irrigation. The rooms are quite amazing, each with its own fireplace and a good size. Adjacent rooms have the possiblity of being converted into family appartments. Breakfast room doubles as restaurant with full views of the gardens.
But my favorite features of this hotel were the following:
The super attentive staff which manages to supply for your every need without being obstrusive in any way.
The omnipresent murmur of the Pumahuanca stream, which provides an ideal, relaxing soundtrack.
The fact that you can walk right out of this hotel into a great (but often overlooked) mountain trail. If you follow this trails, there is much to see:
The Urubamba trout farm (that's where dinner comes from!), 15 minutes away.
The community of Pajchac lets you have a glimpse of how native people live in their stone houses, very much like the Incas, 1.5 Hr. away.
The Pajchac falls, located at the transition area between tropical forest and Puna area, 2 hours away.
The Puna, where the valley widens and you get to see some snow capped giants, 4 hours away.
And there's more to see if you keep on going. Multi day hikes can also be organized on this same trail as well as horseback & bike rides.
A great property at an excellent value all in all

Had the unique opportunity to stay at Sacred Dreams Lodge, was amazed by the location and the hospitality, the gardens were beautiful and our room was so comfortable, sitting on the deck and admiring the scenery, very sheltered natural setting, the design and composition of the lodge is so natural, the room had a fireplace that the staff came and lit with real wood and we sat there immersed in the ambiance. It was designed to fit so peacefully into the landscape, go there and enjoy the yen like setting.

Room Tip: Ask for room with fireplace or skylight
