We stayed at El Maizal 4 nights, originally planned 2, but liked it so much stayed longer. Greeted by the owners Mina and Edgar with coca tea, which was always available with hot water in reception. The room was great, large, good bed, nice comforter. Bathroom big and bright. The entire place is on the ground floor hacienda style, with gorgeous relaxing gardens. Very quiet as separated by a large wall from the street. Very secure with the owners always around. Easy to get anywhere from there. Just go out the front gate, and a mini taxi for 1soles will take you anywhere in town. And close to the bus station, where you can easily get inexpensive collectivos to anywhere in the Sacred Valley, which is what we did. The owners were wonderful. Helped us with printing tickets, called friends in Cuzco to check on availability of rooms for us, even kept left over food in the refrigerator for us. As we stayed more nights, the price went down to 75 soles. What a find!
Out stay here was so pleasant and comfortable. One of the highlights of our trip 2 month trip to Peru. I highly recommend El Maizal as a great comfortable place to stay in the Sacred ValleyMore
