“Pricey, but neat”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

We did a small tour of the ceramic studio and met the artist. It was all very interesting, but the prices were so high, we could only buy a small three-tiled character. I understand the fine art of ceramics and that the quality and craftsmanship are second to none, but we would have done well to visit the store in Cusco prior to going to the studio so we would have been prepared for prices.

“Fantastic Studio”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

We managed to locate this place in Urubamba which had been recommended to us by the agent who organised our trip to Ecuador and Peru. We were given a free guided tour (after a short introductory video) around the facility to see people at work, and we even met Mr. Pablo himself! Yes we ended up in the shop, but there was no pressure to buy anything - but we did anyway!
Definitely worth a visit - as is the newly opened Cafe Kaia opposite.

“Town and Studio”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We had a lot of fun walking around the town and taking the 3 wheeled taxis. The studio was very beautiful and they were very welcoming. Good stop in town if you have time.

“Wonderful stop in Urubamba”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

My husband and I frequently host groups in Urubamba and Ceramicas Seminario is always a stop during their time in the town. The whole experience is just lovely - starting with the 8 minute informative video and then a tour of the artist's studio. The studio is on the same property as Pablo Seminario's home and is just a beautiful place. The artists are all local people from Urubamba and the Seminarios have trained them all. The style is novo-andino ceramics and Pablo has international recognition with many pieces at the Chicago Field Museum, and the Smithsonian Native American Museum. After the video and tour, there is an opportunity to visit the shop where hundreds of pieces are on display for purchase. Prices are quite reasonable and the pieces are a mix of functional (mugs, plates, vases, etc) and artistic (frames, mirrors, etc). I have been here numerous times with groups and can always find something beautiful. Definitely worth the visit!

“A must see for ceramics lovers”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

A free tour in Urubamba, took about an hour and I was wowed the whole time. Very cool compound that houses an artists studio and ceramics production where all the work is done by hand by local artisans. I got to meet Pablo and Marilu
Seminario, and they quite humble, welcoming and informative. The gift shop has a wide range of souvenirs, sculptures, wall hangings and many lovely pieces that can be shipped back home. Loved this experience!
