This lavish resort reminds me of Palm Springs in the middle of nowhere. Too far from town to explore, it requires a cab ride of 20 min. to just get to the restaurants and night life of Urubamba.

Dear Miss,

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate you taking your time to write a comment for our property. Thank you for the comment on our lavish facilities.

Regarding the distance from the town, we are indeed a few minutes away from Urubamba, away from the distress of the road as that is the main focus of our hotel: a tranquil wellness center. We apologise if this was an inconvenience during your stay.

We hope to see you again, and once more, apologize for the inconvenience that made your stay less than stellar.

In good health,

It is a wonderful hotel. Everything is perfect. The people from the hotel are very friendly and nice. The rooms are so comfortable and clean. They had everything, LCD, nice view, comfy beds, jacuzzi, etc. Some rooms are decorated under the colonial style and some under a modern style. The environment is so relaxing and energetic. The sky is starry at night and the river is kind of musical. My husband and I were given the hotel tour and all the rooms and suites are great. It has a very interesting art gallery with photos from Martin Chambi, a well known Peruvian photographer from the last century; and nice pictures from great Peruvian artists. It also has a small but nice cinema where kids and adults can relax seeing a film. It also has a small colonial style chapel where weddings are celebrated. The breakfast buffet is very diverse and delicious. It has the greatest spa I have ever seen in a hotel. I recommend this hotel as the best one in the area of the Sacred Valley. We want to return again next year.

Great hotel! We mistakenly left a significant sum of money in our room when we left the hotel. The hotel tracked us down in Cusco so they could return the money to us. It's rare to find such honest people in the hotel industry.

Stayed here for two nights as we were making our way through the Sacred Valley. We arrived here from Pisac - 35minute journey. The hotel itself is close to a village down a dusty round. The hotel is built on the site of an old Hacienda with it's own purpose built Church on the grounds. It also has a lavish reception, small cinema, colonial library, well equiped gym, excellent restaurant and cafe, bar, outdoor unheated pool, pheasants, Llamas and a couple very small shops (jewellery and souvenirs). If is undoubtable a beautiful place to stay and the strangest thing we found is that on the first night there were only about six people staying there and there has to be at least 300 rooms there - at least!! A whole section of the complex at the north end was not occupied at all. We eat in the restaurant on our own that night - it was a pleasure!!!! I am aware this hotel is less than 2 years old so hopefully will get more business. We stayed in a lovely colonial room - very spacios with jacuzzi, cable tv, etc. We booked a taxi through the hotel to take us to Salinas and Moras - the hotel say they have a set price (about $50) but we haggled on the price and got it reduced to $40. The hotel is like a hidden wounder up a dusty road - go for it! A stroll around the grounds is not to be missed especially the old hacienda part of the hotel with its antiques greeting you at ever turn.

I stayed in this hotel August 2009, our tour group had our hotels changed at the last minuite, and to find myself in these lovely rooms on my birthday was delightful. Our room looked out onto the mountains with panaramic windows, I could not fault the rooms or the location, the breakfast service was very good. Our group had a few problems that were resolved.

With an ultra modern sophisticated entrance, I was expecting the room to be the same. However, it was more oriental with overblown decoration on the headboard - not to my taste. Although the hotel location is stunning, our room overlooked the next accommodation block and we had no view of the surrounding mountains. The bathroom had a huge whirlpool bath which was fun to bathe in but was covered in small flies the next morning which had to be dispatched before we could shower. The connecting door between the bathroom and bedroom was glass letting light in the bedroom during night time trips to the bathroom and waking room mates.
The bar food was good and plentiful - we didn't eat in the restaurant.
There is a huge spa and I got a good manicure. The fitness centre looked well equipped but it’s a shame the swimming pool isn't heated.
As for the rest of the hotel, there is an art gallery, museum, cinema with popcorn vendor, church, fishing pier, peacocks, lamas and an orchid house. It feels as if they are trying a bit too hard to please everyone rather than letting the beauty of the surroundings speak for themselves. I'm also not sure why they think it’s necessary to play piped music outside the rooms (and which can be heard inside them).
A word of warning - leave the high heels at home. The polished floor is lethal - I slipped over and still have the bruises on my posterior over a week later!

We stayed at the Aranwa hotel 5 nights in the River Suite. It is everything that you read about. Although we did not take advantage of the complimentary breakfast, we did eat in the dining room 4 of the nights that we were there. Every night the food was good and the service was excellent. I did ask for the "vegetarian" menu which gave us more selection and a lower dining bill. They also have a local musician that comes in and plays music for the guests from around 7 pm on. It adds a nice little local flavor to dinner!

While walking around on the grounds, you feel completely safe. The gates are always closed and locked unless one of the "guards/attendants" opens it for the taxis. We spent several hours just exploring the place at our leisure.

Our room was clean, contemporary, luxurious and it had PLENTY of hot water for the jacuzzi. It was quiet and relaxing. No noise from any of the rooms nearby. We did experience the WI-FI problem. Most of the time here we were unable to connect. So, we just took a walk to the Business Center and hopped online there to check e-mails and print out anythiing we needed.

After "roughing" it during the days at Machu Picchu (yes, you can get there and back in one day), Ollantaytambo, Moray Depressions and the Salt Mines, it was nice to spoil ourselves in the wonderful, peaceful, beautiful, clean setting of Aranwa.
