Pisac was a side trip we took during our period of adjusting to the altitude before our 7 day trek. It was kind of an afterthought. We wish now that we had spent more time there. Very impressive. Don't miss it.

At the ruins my wife was oddly drawn to a valley away from the main area, so drawn that she felt compelled to hike up to have a look, dragging me with her. We found ourselves away from the crowds and looking across at the ruins. The concept of 'energy' is not one I connect with, but she was clearly moved by the place we had climbed to so we sat for a good half hour and just chilled. We stayed in a lovely little hotel on the square, the market obviously caters for a large quantity of visitors but is still interesting to walk around, if only for the colours. This is one place that the missus speaks with some wonder about, she says she felt a connection there that she didn't feel in Machu Picchu. Me, I thought it was a lovely little town and thoroughly enjoyed the walk down :)

Hundreds of markets ! We caught the local bus which was only 3 soles there and 3 soles back. Beautiful views from the Temple - be prepared though, we didn't find many places selling drinks.

It's an ancient Inca City on top of a huge mountain with amazing views. It's not Machupicchu, but it's a small version of it.

The ruins are interesting, but the walk back down to town is phenomenal, and way more beautiful than the basic ruins that most of the tours go to. Sure it takes an hour or two, but well worth the time.
Pisac itself is pretty cool, but the market is bit much.
