“Perfect Pisac!”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

We had a great stay here. It was our introduction to Peru, and we loved it. The Inn is quaint and the rooms are very clean. There is no heat in the rooms, but the beds are warm. The food was delicious and the location is perfectly oriented. I would go back here in a heart beat!

The place is great, really nice location.
Very chilled and calm rooms yet on the main square.
I liked the restaurant very much. I will for sure come back to the Pisac Inn. If you're a couple, a bunch of friends or a family, this place is always good.
You should try it out.

This was one of our favourite hotels ever, the location is perfect, right on the main square, the staff are very friendly and the room was beautifully decorated. The building itself is amazing, and the decor is all done using andean handicrafts which gives a lovely atmosphere. Also amazingly comfortable beds and very warm even though we were in pisac in the peruvian winter and it was COLD out. Really relaxing place, lots of areas to sit and enjoy the pisco sours happy hour! also a nice touch - afternoon tea served in the little sitting room with brownies and mate de coca. the food in the restaurant is incredible as well, an innovative take on peruvian classics like aji de gallina and quinoa. we stayed two nights and didnt want to leave! really fabulous place.

Right on the main (but tinsy) square with great empanada restaurants just round the corner, we really enjoyed our night at the Pisac Inn. The decor of the hotel, restaurant, and little courtyard is very cute indeed. Nice mix of bright colours and replica Inca stonework (even with a genuine Inca vase) with fantastic wooden tables in the restaurant. Sophisticated but quaint, and this also applies to the rooms. Food is great- restaurant one of the best places to eat in Pisac. There's a good range of dishes- we treated ourselves to some delicious deep fried cheese sticks and homemade pasta, which were also good value. Laundry reasonably priced too.

The Pisac Inn is in a perfect location. It's right on the town square that is chock full of stands with crafts and goodies. On Sunday the market comes to town and sets up right in front of this hotel. The inn is well kept, clean and charming with a beautiful couryard where you can have meals. It's a real family run establishment with very friendly staff who are quite eager to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

The building is old and may have been expanded from time to time by incorporating adjacent properties. As such there are some odd up's and down's and uneven flooring typical of older structures, but that's part of the charm. Our room had an ensuite bathroom (not sure all rooms do) but you could only get cold water in the sink (the shower had both hot and cold). There were no electrical outlets in the bathroom and come to think of it, I think there was only one outlet in the sleeping room so dealing with all the things needing to be plugged in or recharged by a modern traveler proved challenging. The room we had had two single beds and there was not much room for anything else (like a chair). I think it may also have had a small chest of drawers or cabinet but my memory is fading on that point.

We were there over a saturday night and as Sunday is market day, the local venders could be heard bringing their goods to market in hand pushed or bicycle carts early Sunday monring. Having said that, we deliberatly chose to be there over Saturday night so we could photograph the Sunday market, including the local folks bringing their goods through the narrow streets to the town square. So, for us this was not a problem but, rather, an advantage to be so alerted by the street noise as to when we should get up, grab the cameras and head out the door.

Access to the hotel via car can be somewhat difficult. As mentioned the hotel is directly on the town square and all the streets leading to the square were established way before the advent of motorized vehicles and as such are quite narrow. Depending on the day of the week and time of day you arrive and/or depart, you may very likely wind up pulling your suitcases 2 or 3 blocks over cobblestone streets. Not a negative, just an observation. Id' much rather have it that way than have tour buses and cars parked all over the town square.

As in most small towns and villages in Peru, not everyone on the hotel staff spoke English, but one could usually find someone who could.

As Pisac is a small town (or perhaps village) this inn is probably one of the nicest places to stay at a reasonable price. However, it's a bit more rustic than what you would expect in, say, Cusco or Lima. Perhaps there are other Hotels around Pisac that are more modern or roomy but if so they are not anywhere near the central location of this Inn.

All in all, a good choice.

This was my favorite of our hotels in Peru aside from our Amazon jungle lodge (which is a different experience entirely). The internet was a little flaky, but present/usable. The hot water was good and the hotel provided plenty of filtered water to refill one's bottles. The courtyard is honestly beautiful, honestly. The restaurant is the best in Pisac. It is on the market square so it could be loud, I guess, but I don't know that there are rooms in the front (which would face the square); there's a nice balcony and public lounge room on the second floor instead. All in all, I was very sad to leave.

This visit was one of the big disappointments of my trip to Peru. I picked this inn because it sounded good and was close to the action. I had to follow up about three times to get a reservation which should have been a warning. The website says Roman and Fielding no longer run the inn. From what I could see the office of their tour company is in the courtyard of their inn and they ru n the inn solely for the benefit of their tour groups. You are welcome to try to make an independent reservation but you are on the own with the staff. There is very little information that is given to you verbally or in writing when you check in. You are left to discover these things on your own. The hot water isn't turned on until requested by a guest. I learned that after having a cold shower. Coca tea is free in the afternoons. The place closes early in the evening. The two top staff seem to speak decent English, try hard and are friendly if you ask questions but totally out of touch with the needs of their guests. For example, I asked about the new Italian restaurant - Pisac is not a big place - and they didn't have a clue. Roman and fielding are big people and take up a lot of space in the place, They avoided us to the point of avoiding eye contact..Until Firlding appeared at the door of the common room to yell at my 19 year old daughter in Spanish for having her feet on the coffee table. They also have a cultural music and dance show right outside our room one night. I half expected them to yell at me for walking through the performance to our room. It's a shame they aren't interested in any guests other than their tour groups. The place itself is lovely and the location superb. We had a room with three beds that was extremely cramped so the price seemed high to me. The breakfasts were lovely lath ough it was odd there was a choice between eggs or fruit salad. I'm sure the owners could care less about their Trip Advisor rating but I think potential g jests should know what they are getting themselves into.
