“Casa Del Conde - a very special place”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

On arriving at Cusco, we chose to go straight to Pisac to acclimate to the altitude. We stayed at Casa Del Conde and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience -- it is a treat: beautiful gardens, lovely view, a real Peruvian experience. Cecilia really took care of us. She arranged a wonderful driver, Nasario, who met us at the airport. He is a true master of the Peruvian roads -- we always felt safe with him at the wheel. He met us at the airport and was there waiting even though our flight arrived late. He was our driver for the rest of our Machu Picchu trip to and from Ollantaytambo as well as the Pisac ruins. Arriving in Pisac, we transferred to a small Mototaxi to go 5 minutes up the Inca road to Casa Del Conde. After meeting Cecilia and putting out bags in our room, we took a very pleasant 8-minute walk back down to the Pisac market where we bought fresh fruit for out trip. We had arranged with Cecilia ahead of time to have dinner at Casa Del Conde and it was superb. During dinner, it started to rain so we were happy that our room was right there. Amazingly, we never had rain during the day on our trip, even though it was November, the beginning of the rainy season. Our only regret was that we didn't stay two nights at Casa Del Conde.

What a great experience...Cecilia, thank you for providing such a great place to retreat and relax. My wife and i spent 2 nights at Casa De Conde, and could not have asked for more. located right at the foot of a spectacular mountain range; right in the countryside.....yet close enough to walk into town and experience the charm of the local people. I cant wait to return!

I can only echo the praise from other guests at La Casa del Conde. We stayed there our first night in Peru. The peaceful setting in the mountains, the beautiful gardens and the laid back, rural atmosphere helped us adjust not only to the climate, but to the relaxed pace and lifestyle of the Sacred Valley. Cecilia is warm, welcoming and a great resource. She made sure that a wonderful driver, Nasario, was at the Cusco airport to meet us when we flew in. As noted by others, the breakfasts were excellent: fresh yogurt, fruit juices, granola, eggs and other healthful, delicious, choices. Conde is friendly and entertaining.

Nasario drove safely, but efficiently, through the mountain passes and also was a great resource for recommendations and advice. He stopped at an animal sanctuary en route to Pisaq, which was a special treat for us. We then hired Nasario to take us on several other day trips in the Sacred Valley and highly recommend his services.

If planning the trip again, I would definitely stay again at La Casa del Conde - but I would stay longer next time!

I am late writing this but wanted to share my expierence...my girlfriend and I stayed with Cecillia back in May....we landed in Cusco and immediately took a cab from airport to Casa de Conde....we made arrangements for Cellias driver to pick us up but I forgot to relay to her our flight had been rescheduled to arrive two hours later than what I told her...instead we took a cab....watch your belongings with the cab...we stopped along the way and the driver went back to the cab "to get something"...what we did not know it was our camera, which he stole....
Anyway her place is great location just outside town.....300 yards to Pisac town center...very peaceful...rooms nice and a great view...breakfast is fantastic....highly recommend staying there.....make sure you take a cab up to top of mountains where the ruins are located.....hike back down into the town center....take your time and enjoy it...bring water......easy hike and you have great views and can see other ruins on your way down....maybe hour and half if you did not stop much....

Room Tip: All rooms are are good and equal in size and location

This is truly a sanctuary. You are in a breathtaking setting, nestled at the foot of a mountain and still overlooking the fields below. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The architecture incorporates the natural stone of the area. The gardens are amazing. I can't say enough about the beauty of this wonderful place. The best part is Cecilia, she is warm and full of love and makes sure that you feel like you are coming home as soon as you step foot on the grounds.

Thank you Cecilia for everything!

I don't have much to add to the previous reviews, except to echo their sentiments. To arrive at the Casa, we took a left turn at the small church at the edge of the market and walked down a dirt road for 5-10 minutes. It's also accessible by moto-taxis, although we always walked.

Walking through the gate, you'll find yourself in the middle of a very nicely-maintained garden. It's very peaceful and the service was excellent. Cecilia gave us advice on local sites and helped us to arrange transportation.

The location is also ideal, as it's near the center of town but far enough away to be quieter. My wife and I both enjoyed it and would recommend staying here.

The hotel consists of little casitas in the middle of beautiful gardens. Cecilia took care of me when I fell sick from the altitude. She is a warm, wonderful innkeeper. I absolutely loved this hotel -- the grounds and accommodations are perfect. Probably the nicest hotel we stayed in while in Peru. The hotel is a bit of a hike from Pisac but offers a lovely view. I recommend spending the night in Pisac after a trip to the market.
