I was sent there from the hotel I initially planned to stay which was full. Actually, I was lucky as it's maybe the best value in the whole sacred valley. Very friendly young staff, rooms are quite new with modern bathroom. I was given very good advices about the places to visit around town.

We stayed for 5 nights in two different rooms. All the rooms are very clean and comfortable, they have some great system for hot water so you will not worry about cold shower.

Carlo, who is one of the hosts, is the main reason why the place gets such good reviews. He cares about all the guest, is responsible and extremely helpful. He knows lots of trekking routes around Ollantaytambo, he knows how to get to Machu Picchu for a reasonable price and prepares the best breakfast in Peru. If you are lucky you might be able to taste his bread (delicious) or convince him to prepare a lunch or dinner as well for a very reasonable price. The chicken, vegetarian soup, wraps and pasta were all great. There is a nice patio and common space with fireplace.

Last but not least. Ollantaytambo is the place to go. It is lower than Cuzco so you do not need to worry about the altitude sickness. Great treks start here not only to Machu Picchu. You can have a 8h walk to Aguas Calientes or take a bus/car to Hydroelectrica (40-70 soles per person) and walk 3h from there.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the patio are quieter.

The owners of this hotel are very friendly and supportive of your tours. When I was there they cooked me meals at the hotel for an extra fee that were super delicious. They also allowed me to change rooms. The showers were powerful and always warm. These guys know the town very well and can help out with whatever travel plans you have.

Room Tip: Choose a courtyard facing room for a view of the mountains and to avoid street noise.

My favorite place in peru! What a welcoming place and the owners were so helpful. It's a great place to meet other guests because they have a common room where breakfast is served, beer can be purchased, DVD watched, etc. Breakfast is delicious!!! The owners helped me arrange a taxi to pick up my friends at the Cuzco airport and drive them to Ollantaytambo, and they helped me change my train ticket.

I stumbled upon Janaxpacha by accident, but what a happy one it was! Straight away Carlos and Jose made me feel comfortable and at home and continued to do so during my whole stay. I had a matrimonial room to myself and found it clean, comfortable and everything I needed, including a beautiful view of the mountains behind the town. The room and adjoining bathroom were cleaned everyday. Carlos makes a wonderful breakfast and even made me a packed lunch for my day drip to Machu Picchu. The location is perfect too, just a few minutes walk from the main square. I enjoyed my stay so much I extended it to a full week, it really did feel like a second home in Ollanta.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience! The staff was very friendly and relaxed. They treated us great! The facilities were super clean and comfortable. There is an awesome patio area with a beautiful view of the mountains and a huge hammock. The price is very reasonable as well, especially with dinner included. I highly recommend having dinner here because the chef is phenomenal! Seriously great food. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Ollantay!
