We had a private tour lead by Sergio of the beautiful organic farm behind El Albergue. The garden supplies all the veggies and herbs used in their restaurant, which is also fabulous! We were told the pachamanca is for celebrating special life events so it was a fitting since we were on our honeymoon. We feasted on lamb, chicken, beef, pork, alpaca, several varieties of potatoes, fava beans, and other herbs which were cooked on super hot stones buried in the soil. Everything was cooked and seasoned so well. There was also a fresh garden salad and chicha morada (purple corn drink). Everything was set up and served to us on a table outside. We could enjoy our meal and take in the gorgeous mountain setting. It was our favorite meal we had on our trip and we highly recommend it!
