The complex is accessible after a steep climb up the stone steps, which will not be an issue if you have already walked the Inca Trail. The temple has beautiful stone workmanship and the fountains at the bottom of the complex are worth seeing as well.

This temple is almost as impressive as Machu Picchu. The way this culture was able to construct these magnificent structures is impressive. The control of water flow, the construction of terraces and retaining walls in such a beautiful setting is amazing. A great way to spend an afternoon, but I would also suggest a guide. We had a guide who was able to tell us of the Inka civilization and show us the details of the structures. He made the trip far more informative.

Great arquelogical site, as all Inka's sites you need to walk a lot of steep stairs but it is rewarding.

So I am a little lazy and quite out of shape. I saw the 300 steps and panicked thinking would I be able to do this. The first flight was the toughest, but it did get easier and you can rest along the way. Great view from the top. I thoroughly recommend visiting, as the Temple of the Sun and ruins of the Temple of the Moon are definitely worth seeing.

The ruins on the other side of town, called the graininess are free, and empty, no one else is there, but the Temple is also nice. If you buy a combination pass at another cite, this cite is included even thought it is not listed on every pass. It was not listed on our sacred valley pass but the pass was still good for it. The Temple was in the process of being built when the Spaniards arrived so much is unfinished. The stones are huge. It was fun to explore.
