I especially enjoyed the temple of the sun area, but it was all fascinating. We stopped twice, once in the afternoon and then again the next morning. We'd definitely recommend seeing it in the morning -- the ruins faces mostly east so the sun is better in the morning, plus there aren't so many tourists. In the afternoon the plaza below totally fills with tourist buses.

The sheer size of this place will blow you away! 400m high, and carved out of the mountain side. I guess nowhere compares to macho Picchu, but this definitely comes a close second. Make sure you see it.

I stayed here for one night and the day after my trip to Machu Picchu. It was a nice way to end my Cusco trip all together because the ruins are super interesting and not too bad of a walk (since it is on a hill of course)

One of the most interesting and accessible Inca ruins in the Sacred Valley overlooking town. Recommend a tour guide since there is a lot to see particularly graineries and storehouses. Entire village of Olantaytambo is fascinating and worth seeing.

When I first saw the temple and was told there were 300 steps to the top I was terrified but this was a once in a lifetime trip and I was determined to try. (I have reached the three score years and ten!!). It was really tough but I made it up 200 steps to where there is part of the Inca Trail where you can walk along a terrace for a little way and descend another flight of 200 steps!! Wow, was it worth it. The view of the town from the trail is breathtaking and the feeling of achievement when you arrive back is wonderful. Just take your time and drink lots of water.
