We were very impressed with this hotel while we were based at Ollantaytambo. It has a lovely setting with spacious grounds and attractive gardens frequented by hummingbirds. There are lovely views of the surrounding mountains from the grounds. With several blocks of accommodation set out over a reasonable area, it feels smaller and more private than it really is. All the main attractions of Ollantaytambo are within easy walking distance. It is also very conveniently situated to catch the train for Machu Picchu. We could have happily stayed several more nights and would love to visit again.

We stayed 3 nights while touring the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. As others have mentioned, this was the best place to get the train to Agnes Calientas and go on to Machu Picchu. The train station is across the street and a 3-5 minute walk.
The grounds of this hotel were spectacular. Flowers blooming in every direction. From the window in our room, we watched hummingbirds flit from one flower to another. One of the best hotel grounds that I have stayed at.
Our room, #31, had a problem with hot water. It would come and go which was frustrating when one was trying to shower. Lack of internet was a problem only because they advertise that they have it, and it didn't work for us at all. Breakfast was boring - dry cereals, dry breads, cheeses, some meat of unknown origin. The jams were good.
The staff did not speak English well and I don't speak Spanish so that made communication about the water difficult.

Stayed there for two nights In January. Gorgeous landscaping and a two minute walk to train station which is great because we tool an early train to Machu Piccu. Breakfast opens at 5:30 am which is perfect before the train to Machu Piccu. There is nothing wrong with this hotel-rooms are clean, hot water plentiful, and the grounds are superb. For those who complain about not having wi-fi, well they have it but who cares. You are not there for wi-fi. You are there to see the sacred Valley and have a shorter train ride to Machu Piccu. Just a great place. Ross

Room Tip: my tip is to enjoy the beauty of the hotel and the landscaping-just awsome

If wifi is important to you, it is to us, we continue to run a business while traveling, do not stay here. They advertise that they have wifi, and i guess they have something that sometimes might resemble it, but the hotel is way to large for the capacity that they employ.
The location is good, between town and the train station. The rooms are comfortable but basic. The breakfast is very simple.
The gardens are lovely.

Hotel Pakaritampu had a beautifully kept grounds and a secure entrance. The views from the hotel were quite spectacular as well. The location to the main square of Ollantaytambo and the train made this a great spot on our Honeymoon.

We stayed here for one night on the way from Cusco to Machu Picchu, and after visiting Ollantayambo and found the place to have everything we needed. It also saved the 2 or 3 hour trip back to Cusco, so the location speaks for itself.
We were warned that the WiFi here was poor, and whilst I wouldn't advise trying to download a movie, it was fast enough to keep in touch with some emails and Facebook, so it served our purpose well.
The bar had a happy hour (Which ran for 2 hours) during which time prices were pretty good, and there was a good selection of bar snacks available.
The room was clean, big and airy, and had a comfortable bed, as well as a safe and TV.
Excellent stopover..

These grounds of this hotel are really nice, but the service at both the front desk and the restaurant were disappointing. And if you need to stay in touch via Wi-Fi, it is just not acceptable. Very difficult to log on and if you make it on, very slow. We were particularly disappointed when the guide recommended by the front desk to show us the ruins stood us up, causing to lose almost a 1/2 day.
