Stayed here a couple of different times. Showers are hot, English, Spanish, and Quechua are spoken and everyone is very friendly. Comfortable sitting room with DVDs. Casa de Wow is like home away from home. Provides information and connections for great local guides and hikes.

Dbl room ensuite was 100 sol and 70 sol without. Includes a continental breakfast with eggs. Our room had two bunks which we were given for 70 and toilet is just outside. Free wifi although slow.

Pros: comfy tv room and large and well equipped kitchen. free choice of teas all day. Very friendly people and extremely helpful.
Cons: Bunk beds are a bit short for someone over 5'7" or 170cm though. A bit expensive compared to other places.

We are grateful, as always, for your kind words of encouragement and positive reflection. And we feel a need to respond to the cons of your review. We were surprised to hear that you thought the beds were short. The matresses are of standard length - just a little over 6 feet - and the beds frames built to accomodate. In fact, there are only two beds that have any sort of foot board creating a boundary. Perhaps you stayed in one of these, which made the bed feel short. Also, you mentioned that we were abit expensive compared to other places, and to the contrary, compared to other places of our quality here in Ollantaytambo, we are on the lower end of the price scale. We enjoy getting a variety of travelers and want to accomodate to different budgets. Again - thank you so much for the review which was wonderfully positive. We enjoyed y'all being here as well! Take care, Winn and Wow.

You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Ollantay is one of the greatest towns in the sacred valley and, if you really want to check it out, Casa de Wow is he place to stay. This hostel in the oldest neighborhood, a 40-square block area of beautiful cobbled alleys with canals running down each one that survived the Spanish invasion intact. The hostel has a beautiful view of the amazing ruins just across the way, plus the kindest hosts around. Staying here is like staying with friends who have the inside scoop. Owner Winn brings her sweet southern charm while owner Wow brings his friendliness and artistic creativity (he made all the beds from local wood plus he makes amazing embroidered coats). Most people come to Ollantay just for one night to catch the train to Machu Pichu and miss out on this great little town. We stayed for 5 days and could have stayed for weeks. For something extra special make sure to book a day trip with their trusted local Quechuan guide, Wither. This place is totally walkable and has a great small-town Feel. Some other near-by favorites were the bar Ganzos, and the restaurants Puka Rumi, and the Blue Puppy.

Casa de Wow is home from home....a great breakfast included in the price, a proper kitchen which guests can use, comfy living room with TV and hundreds of DVDs and cosy blankets for chilly nights or days, fabulous beds made by Wow from local trees - they are fit for kings and queens and soo comfy. Winn is a great host, friendly, warm and knowledgable. She and Wow (who is from Ollantaytambo) have lots of friends from the area who can guide you to amazing places off the beaten track for a v reasonable fee. Come and stay here for a night and you will end up staying a week! (or like me, 5 weeks!)

Spend a night in Ollantaytambo either before or after Macchu Picchu and see the ruins. There are some free ruins to climb on to from where you have an excellent view of the paid ruins. Stay at Casa de Wow and rest your weary legs on hand made comfy beds. Nicely [resented and very homely and run by a couple of friendly ladies.

when we were there, we had no hot water as the gas had run out and the skylight windows leaked when it rained hard. But the place is still quite new so there are a few things they need to tweak which I am sure they already have.

We decided to spend a night in Ollantaytambo on the way back from Machu Picchu.

Following several recommendations we contacted Casa de Wow to book two double rooms, one for my wife and I, the other for our two friends. The Hostel is really stunning and both Winn and her Husband are great hosts, warm, welcoming and we were made to feel very special. The rooms are gorgeous, hand made beds with thick comfy matresses - the rooms were the best we stayed in.

Ollantaytambo is a lovely place with a number of very good restaurants (the better ones are tucked behind Casa de Wow rather than on the main strip.) Theres Inca ruins - ones you can pay for and if you're fit enough, scramble up the mountain behind CdW and see the free ruins - the view is spectacular.

We came back from dinner with a bottle of wine to watch a DVD - big comfy sofas and a decent flatscreen tv, we commented that the room could've been a friends place it was set up so nicely. Breakfast was the same, all sat around a lovely kitchen table chatting with Winn and their future plans.

I really recommend CdW - it's a great hostel, it really is a home from home!

This is the best hostel we have stayed at throughout our 3 months travelling of Ecuador and Peru, and Winn is by far the most amazing host we have met throughout our travels, she is truely a lovely giving person.

The beds are amazing and you will not want to get out of it in the morning, so get to bed early to make the most of the wonderful sleep you'll have !! The whole place is sparkling clean with the best facilities, using the lounge will be just like home and there is even a room for Yoga or chill out.

If you need a little homely feel and catch up time, then this really is the place to be, its more of a home than a hostel, so take the chance while you can and enjoy !!

Thanks Winn and Wow, for a great stay and we hope our paths meet again, Best of luck with your new ventures
Nina and Peter from Manchester, Little England xx
