“Pinkuylluna Mountain”

This ruin overlooking the main ruin of Ollanta is vigorous walk, but well worth the views and solitude. We did the trek at sunset time, and had breathtaking views, and some musical accompaniment of a impromptu performance of percussion and reed flute, about midway up the trail.

“Very small but worth it.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

These ruins are on the East side of the town, facing the main ruins on the West side. The entrance was 50 feet from my hotel, so I let my wife sleep in and walked up to see the sunrise. I don't think there is ever many people at this spot, but I had the whole place to myself for 3 hours. Truly mystical.

“View is worth the climb”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

Scrambling up the mountain when we were hungry was not the best idea, but we were rewarded with a magnificent view of the main Ollantaytambo ruins - some of our best photographs of our trip were from this place. The Granaries are architecturally fascinating and a great place to rest before the remainder of the climb.
