The hike to and from Ollaytaytambo is one of the best hikes I've ever had. I'm glad we had a guide with us. The ruins are great. Not crowded, it felt remote.

Our group of seven and guide were the only ones visiting these ruins. The scenery and wild flowers were amazing. More of a military outpost, this site is very different than the ruins in Ollantaytambo.

We had a driver take us out to see the Pumamarca Ruins.
It was a nice and interesting drive and then we hiked up a short way to the ruins. There were only 4-6 other people there, which was nice. The view from the ruins is beautiful.
I would recommend it.
We met some others who walked there. It took them several hours.

A private car took us from Ollantay up there (S/50). The driving took about 25 min. The road he took was in very bad condition, extremely bumpy. Few, if any, visitors to the ruins. It was quiet there. If not for a friendly girl who volunteer to walk us to the start of trail back to Ollantay, it might have been a long and hard way to find it. Walking back took about two hours.
