Our first night in Peru was spent here, and it was a wonderful experience! They picked us up and drove us all the way from Cuzco. The owners are friendly and make you instantly feel at home. Our room was clean and the grounds feel like a retreat away from the street just beyond the wall. When we woke in the morning, we were greeted with a view of the mountains surrounding us and a wonderful spread for breakfast. I hope I have the chance to come back here!

Room Tip: There are four rooms that overlook the farthest courtyard (where the hammocks are). Ask for one of t...

From the moment we stepped in the grounds of the property we felt such a warm welcome. We were offered the oppertunity to enjoy the expansive gardens with swings and hammocks. A beautiful place in an incredible country.

Our first thought was "Wow", upon seeing this little island of beauty and tranquility amid the generally noisy and dusty town. The hotel was very clean, well-appointed, restful, and we immediately knew this was going to be a great stay. We felt welcome and were nicely cared for, though we were the only guests for a while!

We spent two nights there, visiting Machu Picchu in between. The owner/manager made arrangements for breakfast bags to take with us, as we were leaving too early for the usual breakfast. We did get the full breakfast the next day, and thoroughly enjoyed the selection and freshness of everything offered.

Hot showers, nice beds, but it did get cool at night, which makes it a bit uncomfortable to shower, get dressed, etc. Still, we were very happy with our selection, and felt the hotel offered great value for higher-end lodging in Ollantaytambo.

I love this hotel. Hotel lies in relatively huge complex and it features several garden, gathering rooms, multi purpose rooms with surrounded mountain views. It provides relaxing, peaceful and cozy atmospher. Lot of things to do in the hotel; stroll the garden, read book in the big cozy and comfortable room or get sun in the garden. Hotel has several buildings offering privacy and quiet place for you. This newly built hotel also offer clean and spacious room with great views and green. Staffs are very friendly and attentive and speak good English. Hotel is good for family vacation too. With Samanapaq hotel and Temple of Ollantytambo made my trip to Ollantaytambo worthwhile. We really had great time in this hotel. Hotel is located 2 minutes away from plaza and 4-5 minutes from Ollantaytambo ruins and 10 minutes from train station on foot.

We stayed at Samanapaq for 5 nights in January. Our room was lovely, the hotel grounds were beautiful but it was the hotel owner and her staff that made our trip truly wonderful. The staff were kind and professional and incredibley helpful. The breakfast was delicious. Samanapaq is a secluded gated courtyard style of hotel that was located within a 3 minute walk to the city centre plaza, restaurants, shops, and Inca ruins. We felt so comfortable and welcome, as wel as safe, at the hotel. If you visit the Sacred Valley in Peru, be sure to spend some time in Ollantaytambo and you simply MUST stay at Samanapaq Hotel, you will love it.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms with the balconies that face the back of the property, there is a wonderful...

You know all those hotel room photos you see on the net and go to the hotel and feel it doesnt match the mental image you have? Well, this one is the exact opposite! Delivers 250% over what it shows :) Great large lawns to play in (One of the kids was so glad she did cart wheels) , fruit trees to eat from, plenty hammocks to lie in, a pleasant restaurant with service in hand made ceramics and close enough to walk everywhere. My only regret is we didnt plan on staying longer!

We stayed only one night here but I had the best shower in Sacred Valley.Rooms are very basic but efficient, staff were very friendly and breakfast was good. There is an old inca site in this little town.Even its people are direct descendants of Inca's.If you get off the station cost of taxi should be around 5 soles, never accept the price they quote ;-)
