This was my first taste of Peruvian food and definitely my favorite of the whole trip. The restaurant is located right off of the main plaza in Ollantaytambo on the way towards the market. It was a relatively slow week night when we were there, and the authentic and cozy atmosphere was definitely relaxing after a long day of exploring the town's ruins. I had the lomo saltado and my sister had carne mescada and we both loved our dishes. The staff was friendly and it was one of the most reasonably priced meals we had during our trip, at about 50 soles for two meals, coca tea, and bottled water. I would definitely recommend this as a stop while in Ollantaytambo!

This foodie-oriented spot is definitely the place for romantic date-night. We went at lunch and instantly became pisco sour "snobs." Theirs had blended ice and just the right amount of egg white. Our food was also exceptional, although since it was lunch, we ordered kind of boring things.

Puka Rumi was the first place we ate in Peru, and a week later we still rated it as one of the tastiest meals we had. It's not fancy at all, rather a traditional Peruvian restaurant with excellent food and friendly service. It was priced fairly and offered better food than some of its fancier counterparts in Ollantaytambo.

Great meal in a small but sweet restaurant which is over the bridge and up near the entrance to the ruins. All four meals at our table were thoroughly enjoyed. Service is a little slow, but there is only one waitperson, who does a good job considering there were about 16 customers there on the night we went. Service was polite and quite quick once the order was placed.

We tried several Peruvian specialties and weren't disappointed by any. Tasty! The evening we went there, two traditional musicians showed up to provide a short concert in this tiny space, lending an ambiance to the evening that we found, well, moving. Find Puka Rumi across the river bridge and off to the left, between the bridge and the ruins.
