I will be short.....A MUST SEE FOR ANY WORLD TRAVELER!!! Breathtaking, awe inspiring, amazing, goosebumps, freaking awesome. Does that describe it well enough?? Husband and I entered through Incan Trail via Sun Gate. I have never been blown away (and out of breath from a 10 mile hike) at a view. One of the most memorable part of the hike (besides being scared on the hike from the heights and narrow trail) a pack of llama walking up the trail. We got photobombed by the llama. How awesome is that??? Wow.....

There really isn't anything bad to say about one of the seven wonders of the world. We felt puny next to such a huge site. We didn't get tickets to Huayna Picchu, they sell out fast, but we did get to climb the montaña, which gave us some amazing views of the Machu and Huayna Picchu, and we got to spend some time among the clouds of the cloud forest. It was a magical and humbling experience. Get there early to avoid the crazy crowds.

I did a short version of Inka Trail in Machu Picchu, which is 1 days of Inka Trail (11 km), one night in Aguas Calientes town and Machu Picchu visit the day after.

It was quite good, not too phisically demanding (if you are an active person).

The thing is, after doing the 11 km Inka Trail, I really feel like to do the 4 days (3 nights) Inka Trail, because Machu Picchu and how to reach get there it is really the key of Peru trip. The most amazing views and exciting experiences are in that Trail.

If I had a second chance I would definitely do the 4 days Trail and give up on Arequipa.

Machu Picchu is truly a special place. Its surroundings are incredibly beautiful, the steep slopes of the Andes. The engineering of the Inca has withstood the elements and are quite amazing. It is well worth the trip to get there! The train ride even had live entertainment in it!

This place is all it's cracked up to be and more. We went up at 6am and climbed Huayana Picchu at 8am. The place blew our minds, the views, the architecture, the climb...everything! This place is so amazing, if your thinking about visiting then just do it, you won't regret it!
