“Worth the Wait!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

After a long walk on the Inca Trail - reaching the Sun Gate was a great feeling of accomplishment. We entered in the late afternoon - and I do not regret taking this approach. There were fewer crowds, the sky was clear and Machu Picchu was not crowded at that time of day.
After some picture time we headed down into the ruins.
My advise - take your time and soak it all in. You will probably not want to walk back up there during your stay.

“Achievement when you get here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

There is no describing the sense of achievement and wonderment when you arrive at Intipunku from the inca Trail. If you come here via Machu Picchu (the backward, easy way) I guess it'd be great too but you didn't do the long 4 day hike and feel the awesome energy as you arrive an sunrise. You reach the gate, peek of the slope and as the cloud and mist clears...... LISTO! Machu Picchu from a distance. What a sight to behold!

“Really nice view of Machupicchu”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

If you have a clear day......the view from this place will be nice and different. The view is from east to west and you have almost the same elevation of Huayna Picchu mountain. if you have mist, better wait, the fog comes and goes, is just a matter of time.

“First glimpse of machu Picchu”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

The 5/5 is because of the view not of the IntiPunku itself!

In the afternoon it was quite croded so photos were disppointing.

It is another 30 minutes walk to Mach Picch itself.

It must be incredible at sunrise on a solstice
