If this is the name for Machu Picchu Mtn., the views can't be beat. We were actually looking down at Hyanna Picchu and the views are 360 degrees of the Urubamba and surrounds. You could see for miles and miles. We thought it would be less crowded. It wasn't bad at all, but I'm afraid the "word is out"!

This was the most amazing place to have a picnic! We had the whole site to ourselves as we were the only people on the short Inka trail. It was just fantastic!

Getting into camp reasonably early on Day 3 of the 4 day Inca Trek gave us the opportunity to spend time exploring the beautiful Winawayna. While Machu Picchu is the best known of the ruins on the Inca trail, I would rate this ruin as the 'best surprise' on the trek. Only a 5 minute walk from the camp site, the ruins and views are just SPECTACULAR! This site is what I had pictured iconic Inca Ruins to look like - the terraces etched into the steep mountain side, the views down the beautiful valley, the stone walls and buildings contrasted against the lush greenery. Just Beautiful. Try your best to get into camp on Day 3 with enough daylight left to check this out, you will never forget it!!!

This site is so well preserved its astonishing! Absolutely breathtaking! There's a little ledge past the last house structure which has the best vies of the entire valley!

We camped near this site on the 3rd night of the Inca Trail hike. The site is a beautiful one and should be seen. You can also see it after climbing the "monkey stairs" just before the sun gate. If you look back across the valley you will see it on the side of the hill with the waterfall next to it. Very impressive.
