“Good view”
Reviewed May 18, 2014 via mobile

It looks like a hostel
My room and my restroom. Were private.
When I arrived at the hotel there was nobody to attend me. It was si strange.
But the view from the windows was amazing
The breakfast was a little poor but enough.
I can recommend this hotel but there are better place to stay

This hotel has 5 floors. There are no lifts so to get to the 5th floor we had to use the stairs but in Aguas Calientes you only carry a back-pack so it is not an issue!
The room was GREAT with a big window overlooking the mountains and plaza de armas. We had a BIG LED TV (2013 model) which we did not even switch on...#
FREE WIFI!

The bathroom had a jet bath (aka whirlpool/jacuzzi).

We had fruit and a minibar (not sure whether the fruit was complimentary or at a charge...
Nice towel SWAN display.

Poor English communication but managed with my double dutch spanish to communicate.

The only let down (so only 4/5 not 5/5) was the breakfast with very limited selection (one ham one chees one bread type) no lactose free milk etc.

Room Tip: Book one of the 5th floor rooms!

We requested our agent to book us into a 3 star hotel for two nights in Agues Calientes; they selected Hotel Muyurani based on its 3 star rating. Two things were acceptabe; the bed was comfortable and the shower water was hot. Everything else was completely substandard and unacceptable for any star rating (who does these anyway?)
The room had no closet, no luggage rack, no usable chair or table - we had to use our suitecases on the ground as there was nowhere else to unpack. The curtains for the window that faced out onto the Aguas Callientes night scene were unlined so the bright lights and loud music made sleep difficult until into the small hours.
On each of the landings there were exposed wiring - 220V as this is Peru - with no cover plates, and reachable by a young child in some cases.
We asked our agent to move use somewhere else after just one night, which they were able to do for us. When we returned in the afternoon to retrieve our luggage, the hotel had taken our suitcases, which we had packed before we left in the morning, and just parked them in an open corridor on the first landing up from the main stairs, available for anyone to go through our luggage at will, or just walk off with it. Given our initial impression of the hotel when we first arrived we had transferred all of our valuables and essential documents into our back packs before setting out that morning.
When I asked for our luggage they pointed up the stairs; I was headed up to our old room on the 4th floor but encountered the luggage on the first landing. The desk clerk did not even ask for my identity when I walked out with two suitecases, but then that is probably because the desk clerk at the time seemed to be a 10 year old boy.
This hotel's star rating is a total and complete misrepresention of their amenities and service.
Given the electrical safety hazards encountered they should probably be shut down.
