“Fantastic...”

There several ceremonial temples and sites at Machu Pichhu. The story behind the Temple of the Sun was that it was used to honor and celebrate Inti, the Sun, an important Incan deity. When the sun of the winter solstice enters through the central window, it falls directly on the large ceremonial stone. The stone is protected by a wall built around it.

“A window into the Inca´s culture”

I love the Inca temples as they show the underlying message behind their architecture. It is one of the more interesting ruins.

“Most STUNNING place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

Machu Picchu is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. The view is breathtaking & brought me to tears (twice!) & I am a hard nut to crack. There are tour guides outside if you don't book in advice. Be warned that MP is NOT an easy climb. It takes a good 2 hours & is difficult in the heat. Let me tell you, it is WELL worth the walk. Would do anything to go back!

“well preserved”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

Koricancha is nicer from the outside than from the inside, however everything is very preserved. A nice place to visit if you are in Cuzco but not the nicest.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2012

i liked to know that this temple was used to determine the best time to plant to reap. Its imposible just write about it... you have to go there to learn about that people, how much they were smart and intelligent.
