The staff was incredibly helpful and thoughtful for our entire stay. This is an amazing location and allows the easiest access to Macchu Pichu. If you would like an early start for your hike and beat the throng of tourists than this is the perfect place for you! The food here is beyond excellent and the atmosphere is serene within the hotel and outside in the gardens around the hotel. Flowers, hummingbirds and butterflies surround you in the outdoor garden. The hotel is not intrusive on the grounds of Macchu Pichu but offers a great oasis for weary step-climbing travelers. I highly recommend a massage after hiking. It is sublime! This hotel is worth the extra cost if you want exclusivity, convenience and quality. Very posh!

Room Tip: There are 2 mountain view rooms and all others face the garden.

Machu Picchu is really one of those places that you will only visit once in your lifetime - yes it's ridiculously expensive, but its nice to relax and spend the night at the site and visit again early the next morning before the hoards of people arrive. The hotel itself is very nice, especially considering what it takes to get everything in and out, and the restaurant was very good as well. Overall a wonderful experience. It would have been better at half the cost, but as they say, location is everything!

We spent two nights at Sanctuary Lodge, which gave us three great days to explore Machu Picchu. I really wondered if it could be worth the extra cost ... and having experienced it I'd say it is 100% worth it if you can budget it. Nothing beats being able to come and go into the park around the crowds and the sunrises and sunsets. The food was good, service top-notch and though the room was not huge, it was very comfortable. A further note - we had a dose of stomach illness before we arrived at the lodge and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.
Hands down I'd say that staying at Sanctuary Lodge is the best way to get the most out of your exploration of this natural wonder of the world!

Room Tip: Not sure about all rooms but 37 had a great view and was very comfortable

I saw the lines for the bus!! So glad I chose this option - only had to take the bus up one time and down one time! This hotel allows you to come and go to the MP park- at your times- sunrise was mine and it was beautiful! The service and food impeccable! So worth it and would repeat the same experience again!

Room Tip: Saves alot of time when touring MP no lines for buses!

Keep in mind you're paying the experience of an overnight in Machu Picchu, not luxury. Rooms are small (I was lucky to be upgraded to one of their 2 suites) but the suites have a nice living area and a very big terrace overlooking Wayna Picchu. Bathrooms are even smaller, but when you're spending just one night, those things a not a major issue. All very comfortable though, Orient-Express standard.
Service is very, very good and so is the food (full board, afternoon lunch included, along with bus ride from Aguas Calientes, park entry and excellent tour guide). I actually think you can't put a price to that experience and not having to ride 3h back to Cusco after a whole day in the park or even sleeping in Aguas Calientes, which is not a charming town.
Staff is extremely courteous (as all Peruvians) and they have a very nice garden with lots of orchid varieties and a nice, big jacuzzi, which you have to reserve in advance.
Depending on your budget I definitely recommend it. If you're looking for luxury and you're not willing to ride back to Cusco or Sacred Valley, consider Inkaterra in Aguas Calientes.

Room Tip: All rooms are the same category. If you want an amazing view, go for one of the 2 suites.

This comes with a big price tag but this was worth every cent. Location, location can I say more. The rooms were small but well designed, clean and private. The food sensational and the staff looked after our every need. Lovely grounds and the day room was really usual, clean and had what we needed while we waited our departure. Loved it here.
