“Way too noisy”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

The noise was unbearable. Our room faced the river and the sliding windows (if you can call them windows) left a gap of 1/2 inch open for the cold air and noise to come in. It was as if there was an AC unit running inside the room. We needed ear plugs to sleep. We booked this hotel because it was one of the few that offered 4 beds. Pay a bit extra to get a decent place.
On the positive side the breakfast was good, with cheese and ham in addition to the usual teas, juice and bread. Warm water in the shower.

This hotel was very disappointing. The room was very small, damp, mold on the bathroom walls and ceiling. Its right on the river, and when we were there the river was raging. Little sleep between the raging river and the trains that came by right infront of the small hotel. The room being above the river felt like we were on a raft ready to break loose at any moment.
Breakfast was poor. We came in late due to train delays so couldn't change our prebooked reservation. But for those looking for a place in MP then there are plenty of other hotel options in town.

Room Tip: Don't take a hotel on the river

We booked this hotel and when we got there, we were very disappointed with what we saw, so we left! The rooms we saw were run down, small and not that clean. We did see one room with 3 beds, and that was cleaner. We didn't end up staying here though, so I can't speak towards the location and staff.

The bed was a little small and the tv did not have too many channel but we were overlooking the river which was nice and cover all the noise in this little town

The people where really nice, stored our bags after check out and packed us breakfast for free because we wanted to leave for machu at 4:45am

Do not expect luxury but for Aguas calientes this is just what we needed and for $40 you have your own bathroom which is always nicer than hostels were u share
