We love Italian food and have dinned in many Italian Restaurants in the US, Italy and Lima. La Trattoria de Mambrino is without a doubt one of the worst Italian Restaurants that we have ever been to. We were surprised to see how unusually quickly they brought our order. We were shocked when we tried the pasta. Their spaghetti alla Carbonara was the worst that we have ever tried. So was the wine, a terrible Chilean white wine. This is more surprising considering how expensive this place is: close to $200 for 3 people (the wine was almost $40 the bottle). To top it all, the waiter was very rude. He told us "You should try something unusual. If you are going to eat lasagna, please eat that at home". My advice is simple, stay away from this restaurant. There are much better and less expensive Italian restaurants in Lima.

Well located, in the heart of Miraflores, fine dinning setting for lunch and dinner (table cloth and napkins)
The food was good in taste and presentation...and my cousin and I were satisfied, we shared a small pizza/filet, then ....I ordered the fish special of the day (excellent) w/ glass of w/wine and my cousin spaghetti carbonada and glass of diet soda (share a bottle of water); it was very good and at the end we shared a wonderful terramisup...and 2 coffees, ....
This is a very expensive place....But!! they have the menu out side the restaurant on the wall (display) where you can see the prices and at the same time SEE THAT THE MENU IS IN SPANISH ONLY !! definally this is not a place for backpackers or tourist on a budget...like Danny M... most important the first language in Peru is spanish and do not assume that in every restaurant in a foreing country you will find bilingual staff that speak english(in this restaurant I know they have italian speaking staff).....any way, I don't like when some writers made poor choises in theirs travel destinations, restaurants etc. etc. or they are just ignorants making conparations that do not make any sence at all and then write this coments to diminish the experience of other writers to the point to write " do not trust all the reviews on tripadvisor"

My friend and I dined at several top restaurats in Miraflores but this restaurant was the shadiest. Don't trust all the reviews on Tripadvisor, it's definitely not a good reflection.
When we were seated, the entire menu is in spanish which was difficult to understand and none of the Waiters were willing to help?
We saw the brick oven and the bread on the table tasted quite tasty so we ordered a Margherita pizza as an appetizer. We preferred to have a pizza with salami and mushrooms but again, nobody was willing to help us out.
The pizza was good but the cheese was disprorportionately higher on some slices then others, which made a couple slices way too cheesy.
Our entrees were: Fettucine with Porcini mushrooms with Ragu sauce and Spinach, riccota ravioli.
Both entrees were good but not amazing, compared to Mid-tier Italian restaurants in NYC.

The final bill came to 181/soles.

2 bottled waters (1 carbonated which was their mistake but still charged us)
1 Glass of Wine
1 Pizza
1 Fettucine
1 Ravioli
2 Bread charges for 24 SOLES (about $10 USD)!! WTF?

We did not ask nor order the single slice of bread that looked like half a pita but they charged us both $5/each for eating it? Even if we didn't eat it, they would still charge us?

Not only did the staff ignore the needs of it's customers but then they tack on this ridiculous charge that just completely downgrades the restaurant.

This is one of the most priciest restaurants in Miraflores already and they still feel entitled to rip you off with this ridiculous charge for bread that is completely standard everywhere else.

If it was mentioned to us when we sat down or had we ordered it off the menu on our own, I completely understand but there is no excuse for such robbery.

If you just sit down and have the slice of bread and order a bottle water that costs 1.50 soles in the park, this restaurant will charge you: 12soles for bread + 6.50 soles for water = 18.50 soles

Average food + horrible service + corrupt methods = 1 Star

High-end, 1st class Italian. We sat rather in middle of back room from entrance, and felt miles away from hubbub of Parque Kennedy nearby. For a Friday night dinner at ~8pm, was fairly crowded except the front bar area, which was completely empty. This was one meal we had in Lima that immediately felt like might as well had been in a fine Manhattan restaurant as well. Service was a little serious yet knowledgeable, but on par with the kind of old school Italians in Manhattan, too. We used this as a 'nice' dinner for our last night in Peru, and was perfect.
