Astrid y Gaston is easily one of the best, if not best, restaurant I ever ate in. Not just because the food is deliciously prepared, but because they are innovative, creative, and attentive to detail. I ordered the Parihuela de Mariscos, and it was a world of difference from other Parihuela de Maricos I had at other Peruvian restaurants. It was Parihuela de Mariscos their style. This meant that they brought the concave plate with he delicious seafood selection and added some broth before my eyes. Previous Parihuelas were just a big bowl of seafood soop. This was delicate and allowed me to taste the textures of the various seafoods in it. The mixed bread basket was also first class. Dessert consisted of a chocolate dome with exotic fruit ice cream inside. The chocolate dome was melted before my eyes when the waiter poured a hot dark chocolate mix on top exposing the ice cream and making for a delicious combo. I could go on and on, but suffice is to say that the hype is real and this restaurant is a gem.
