The craft beer movement that is sweeping the USA and Europe has reached down as far as Lima, Peru. If you are a beer maverick, or beer geek, Cañas y Tapas will introduce you to beers made with Peruvian products and ingenuity.
This bar is not that small. There are private rooms and a second floor. When I got the chance to visit, I always sat at the bar. I was able to try IPAs, porters, red ales, and then crazy ales and IPAs mixed with purple corn, rocoto, chocolate, etc. All these beers are pretty good, not the madness that American and European brewers create, but they are made perfectly and ready for a new market. I would even say that some of the beers, not all, could compete in the USA and Europe.
Also, they have a large selection of Belgian ales and German witbiers. I never tried the food, but tried all the Peruvian craft beer they had to offer.
