Few hostels in South America have what Kaminu have! Best place to be if your passing through Lima! Situated on the most beautiful part of town, Kaminu gives you a felling that you are staying in some friends house, not only because the accommodations are cozy, clean and safe, but the Kaminu Staff makes you fell like you are a part of a family, the Kaminu family, with whom you're gonna have lots of great and fun time. Then you have the Kaminu terrace, ohh what to say about this magical place!? Gives you a the best view of beautiful Barranco and its enchanting Ponte de los Suspiros and the Bajada de Baños. Kaminu Hostel its the place where you arrive for a few days and end up staying for weeks and even months! You can know Lima, but you will never enjoy Lima the way you could if you don't stay at Kaminu Hostel.

Very good hostel: Friendly, competent, good beds, unique location and terrace. The owner, Piero, is very sympathic and can give you very useful information to plan your ongoing trip.

I fell in love with Barranco and staying at Kaminu was a pleasure. 5 minute walk to the coast, 2 minute walk to Tio Mario ($5 steak-fries-corn plate), 2 minutes from the Barranco bars. Piero is the guy that runs the place - good-natured and always joking. Got great bar recommendations from one of the girls that works there too. Highly recommended.

Throughout my five-month stay in Peru, I always found myself traveling and then returning to Kaminu. I was immediately welcomed and impressed when I arrived at Kaminu for the first time; the owners and workers helped me find the best places to eat, explore, and surf. The owner, Piero, lended me his own surfboard for the first couple weeks of my stay in Peru as I searched for my own board to buy. He also threw a big party during my first week and roasted an entire pig, inviting lots of friends and fun people from the area to attend! All of the staff/employees at the hostel are equally friendly and helpful. Throughout my stay in Peru and travels outside of Lima, I always looked forward to returning to Kaminu.

this hostel was great. I stayed here for about 3 weeks and was made to feel so welcome. It is like you are walking into a friendly family and the owner makes you feel very welcome! All staff are very helpful and speak excellent english. They will happily help you book tours or travel by phone. Internet is free and there is a beautiful balcony area with bbq and kitchen facilities. It is a chilled out atmosphere with a hippy vibe and lots of bright colourful paintings on the walls!!

The location is also great, it is down a quiet, safe (fairly wealthy) area that is just a 5 miniute walk from the beach and only 5 mins to a bus stop that takes you straight to Lima in 15mins!! The hostel is also located 5 mins fro msome lovely bars, clubs and restaurants so it really does cater for all!!!

I recommened this hostel to anyone visiting Peru who want to relax or simply have some FUN!!

Oh.... they also have some amazing sushi nights where a pro chef comes and cooks for everyone at the hostel and it usually turns into a great party!!!
