Owner description: Like Chinatowns in other countries, Lima's two-block Chinatown is the place to go for Chinese cuisine. The area has undergone a renaissance in recent years after a 1997 renovation in preparation for the 150th anniversary of Chinese immigration to Peru.

“Quite dirty, doesn't feel safe”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Although Barrio Chino has a long story and boasts some of the best chifas in town, the place isn't well preserved and has a grimy atmosphere.

The Chinatown of Lima is quite interesting, alot going on and so much to see. Did not see alot of chinese people though, but still i'm sure there are many good places to eat and buy random cheap items and souvenirs

“Walk through Peruvian China Town with Nick and Alec”
Reviewed June 13, 2012

Nick and Alec two american friends wanted to meet lima downtown, as well, as get to know peruvian-chinese food called chifa. After a walk through the main attractions in Lima downtown we got finally to China town were we could find the famous chifa. Nick and Alec were looking for an unexpensive kind of chifa so we enter one located in the main avenue of china town.
These guys enjoyed the food so much that Alec eated arroz chaufa at least 3 more times through his stay in Lima.Definitely a great way to finish a walk through Lima downtown is el barrio chino.
