Second Home Peru is great! It is like staying at an extended family member's home. We had a room with a balcony over looking the ocean. It was the perfect way to end our trip to Peru. The room was great and the location of the house was walk-able to restaurants and things to do in the Barranco neighborhood. The gardens and main living areas of the house are open to guests and were the perfect place to relax while we waited for our cab to go to the airport. The owner of the main house is an artist so there is a lot of great art on the property. I would definitely recommend Second Home Peru.

Six of us kicked off our Machu Picchu holiday with a few days beforehand in Lima, Peru. We were met at the airport by the hotel driver, Edward, who took us safely back to the hotel.

Rooms are lovely but the ambience of the place took our breath away. Breakfast got us underway early and we enjoyed our time together at the large dinner table for all of us.

Great location, very safe to wander about the neighbourhood and great to know someone is looking out for you!

The place is quite fancy especially if you return from Huaraz after almost a month on the Cordillera Blanca mountains! Rooms with high ceiling, artsy decor, amazing ocean view, and lovely cat and dogs.

The breakfast was kind of light for us wannabe-mountaineers but everything was fresh and that goes a long way. We got a lecture from the lovely staff about the wonderful local bread they serve. And the bread was outstanding! There's many good options nearby if you want more to eat.

I've usually stayed in Miraflores when in Peru but two nights in Barranco were enough to convince me and my girlfriend that in the future we'll stay in Second Home Peru in Barranco! It's a nice oceanside walk to Miraflores anyway, or a short taxi/bus ride.

This house was a feast for the eyes, along with the grounds, tastefully studded with the art and artifacts of the esteemed owner, artist Victor Delfin. Our room with its large, warm, comfortable bed was, likewise, a treat, opening onto a shared terrace overlooking the Pacific, a setting shared by the expansive yard and terraces leading down to the artist's studio. It was a thrill to meet him, still hard at work on his latest creations! Plus, the surrounding Barranco neighborhood of Lima is quirky and pedestrian-friendly, with many small restaurants and coffeehouses, and a very nice route down to the ocean. Conveniently, they have their own driver who can meet or take you to the airport at all hours of the day for an additional fee. While Senor Fernandez, the driver, is very friendly, his vehicle needed some repairs, particularly to its suspension, which tended to scrape of some of the speed-bumps on the way to the airport. Also, while the room was lovely and spacious, the bathroom/toilet is not in a separate room, but is behind a screen at one end, so it is not the most private.

This house sits on a beautiful, large property at the end of a quiet street. The outside and inside are filled with gorgeous art, and the architectural details of the house were beautiful. We had two different rooms, and we could hear the ocean from both, yet you are steps from restaurants and great sites. The only reason I did not rate this property 5 stars was the service. The woman that was at the front desk both days we were there indicated that she did not speak English (I wonder who had done all of the email correspondence with us when planning the trip). This meant we had no one to discuss restaurants with, sites etc. This type of information is often why people choose to stay at small inns and B&B's. Also, a friend that lives in Lima phoned us while we were there, and the front desk never passed along the message.
