Second Home Peru
Ranked #2 of 321 Lima B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed April 2, 2013

Second Home is probably the best B&B I've ever been. I was there with my girlfriend a couple of days ago and had a great time. I don't understand some of the complains about the owner. She was nice to us and gave us a list of restaurants and some maps to go around. If you need a nanny to visit Lima -apparently some travelers do- maybe it's not the best place but, if like me, you like to be on your own and discover a city by yourself and also stay in an amazing and comfortable house with a pool and fantastic views, Second Home should be your choice. Moreover, the neighborhood is very nice -bohemian, with a lot of personality- and the service is superb which includes a very nice breakfast.
If I ever go back to Lima I will definitely stay there again!

We stayed only one night, but I would love to stay longer sometime. Such an interesting and relaxing place. Perched high overlooking the Pacific (with terrific sunsets, the views are unbelievably dramatic and beautiful. The hotel itself is really a mansion home, filled with lovely art. It is near nice bars and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the owner is personable and willing to give great sightseeing tips. Staying here was more like a resort or getaway sight, a respite in the midst of a great city, not at all a usual hotel stay. We would recommend Second Home to anyone looking for an unusual and unusually lovely adventure.

So much has been written about this place and all of the rave reviews are true.
The views deserve a better description than "spectacular" . The balcony of the room M3 offers
The most incredible view of the Pacific Ocean and the coastline from the cliff top. Not one to be enjoyed by sufferers of vertigo but everyone else will be truly blown away by it.
The garden is beautiful, the house is a genuine part of Lima's history. The art works by resident artist Victor Delfin make this a very unique place to stay. His daughter Lilian is helpful and knowledgable and can advise of the best sights of Lima, restaurants and transport.
A really great place to stay if you prefer a Peruvian experience rather than conventional hotels.

Room Tip: The view from Room M3 ( in new section) is incredible but there are a few steps involved in reachin...

Stay here if you want to capture the feeling of Lima. Its intimate, art-filled and authentic. Lillian is a great hostess and the rooms are interesting, quirky and comfortable. THis is so much nicer than staying in one of the big modern hotels in Miraflores. Victor Delfin's studio is attached to the property which makes it even more special.
Breakfast is eaten in the old, marvelous kitchen of the home.
There is no AC but you should overlook that to experience this inn.

This B&B is located in the bohemian district of Barranco which is safe and has good spots on its own but is also nearby the main touristic areas of Lima (15 minute Taxi ride to Miraflores and about 30 minute drive to the Town Centre). The house functions as a Museum and workshop for the artist Victor Delfín as well. Naturally the house, rooms, and grounds are beautifully decorated with the artist's works. Our room (mirador 3) has a balcony and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and Lima's shoreline as well as ample internal space. Breakfast is OK (coffee, eggs, cereal, fruit). The service is professional and helpful at all times. I would certainly stay there again.

Second Home Peru was our first stop on our adventure in Peru. We were nothing short of impressed. The staff was great, the rooms were wonderful, and the view was perfect. The art was a little piece of heaven and I loved exploring the grounds.

This place is a little bit of heaven, truly an oasis in the busy city of Lima, located in the Barranco district overlooking the ocean. Full of the amazing art of Victor Delfin, it was the perfect end to a perfect vacation. The location is perfect, and there is even a pool!

Room Tip: Ask for one facing the ocean, but all are great!
