Second Home Peru

Stay here if you want to capture the feeling of Lima. Its intimate, art-filled and authentic. Lillian is a great hostess and the rooms are interesting, quirky and comfortable. THis is so much nicer than staying in one of the big modern hotels in Miraflores. Victor Delfin's studio is attached to the property which makes it even more special.
Breakfast is eaten in the old, marvelous kitchen of the home.
There is no AC but you should overlook that to experience this inn.

This B&B is located in the bohemian district of Barranco which is safe and has good spots on its own but is also nearby the main touristic areas of Lima (15 minute Taxi ride to Miraflores and about 30 minute drive to the Town Centre). The house functions as a Museum and workshop for the artist Victor Delfín as well. Naturally the house, rooms, and grounds are beautifully decorated with the artist's works. Our room (mirador 3) has a balcony and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and Lima's shoreline as well as ample internal space. Breakfast is OK (coffee, eggs, cereal, fruit). The service is professional and helpful at all times. I would certainly stay there again.

Second Home Peru was our first stop on our adventure in Peru. We were nothing short of impressed. The staff was great, the rooms were wonderful, and the view was perfect. The art was a little piece of heaven and I loved exploring the grounds.

This place is a little bit of heaven, truly an oasis in the busy city of Lima, located in the Barranco district overlooking the ocean. Full of the amazing art of Victor Delfin, it was the perfect end to a perfect vacation. The location is perfect, and there is even a pool!

Room Tip: Ask for one facing the ocean, but all are great!

We were recommended to this hotel from the same friends who told us about Wakapunku. Another sound piece of advice. Mr Delfin was at work while we were staying, and we were honored to see him at work. The house is full of historical charm, and its position on the clifftop over the bay of Lima in Barranco was outstanding. The best sunsets I have seen in years (thanks to lima's haze!)

Room Tip: room with a view over the bay

The stream of wonderful reviews of Second Home Peru all echo our experience. What a wonderful place to stay while visiting Lima. This historic home converted to a B&B is in the lovely neighborhood of Barranco, just south of the crowded and touristy Miraflores area. Located at the end of Domeyer Street, hidden from the street walls and a huge door, the home is perched on a spectacular cliff looking over the Pacific ocean .. the views are just amazing.

The house is essentially an art gallery ... stunning paintings on every wall, provocative sculptures in every common area and throughout the grounds, all originals pieces by Victor Delfin who still maintains an active studio on the grounds. There are nice restaurants in walking distance, and a wonderful walk along the cliffs above the ocean to Miraflores, but the wonderful staff can arrange a driver to take you anywhere in the city, to restaurants in Miraflores, to and from the airport and bus station ..

This just an oasis in the congestion of Lima .. a secure, wonderful and relaxing place to come home to every evening, or to spend some relaxing time on the balcony looking at the ocean or sunset. Great staff, excellent English language skills. This would always be our base for any return trip to Lima.

I would add photos, but it is obvious that everyone who stays here goes nuts taking pictures .. there are over 200 in the reviews now, not much more could be added ... but take a look and enjoy.

Room Tip: Some rooms have an ocean view, but you probably aren't in the room much, and there is a common b...

Last time fog was creeping into my room. This time I admit I picked a better season, but also a better hotel. Value for money. Is there a better place for sunset over Pacific? I will not bother to search. Not really luxury, but style, artistic architecture in- and outside, calm atmosphere, birds singing and you go to sleep with a faint sound of waves breaking on the shore far down. Extra service beyond what can be expexted from a small, but friendly and helpful staff.
