Barranco is an excellent spot to take in more of the local art and music scene. Be a mindful traveler and respectful of the local culture and you'll have an awesome time. If you're looking for new music or interesting murals, definitely hit up this area. If nightlife is your thing, this is also a spot to check out. There are additional museums in the area too.

We took a bike tour from Miraflores into this area and would definitely recommend that option. Unless you want to come here and just "hang out" or have dinner/drinks. The area and its murals were amazing. We loved it and were very glad we did not miss this area.

....and the place to just hang loose, and enjoy some of the best shopping, eating and drinking Lima has to offer. Staying in this area on my visit was the best choice we made. Every minute felt we were experiencing a part of Lima's soul. Yes, it could be very hipster, or hippie. Barranco is a bit of everything, but most importantly, its a place with a lot of soul. Enjoy the street art which blankets every surface in this part of Lima. Make sure to do a decent amount of research if you are planning to visit some of the bars and restaurants in the area. They sometimes do not open till much later.
