I've been to the MATE a few times now and I have enjoyed it immensely each time. I've seen the past exhibit with the models and the current exhibit of the traditional dress from Cusco. Both exhibits were excellent with the current exhibit being my favorite. Be sure to ask for a headset with you tour so that you can hear about the history of each garment and a bit about where the photos were taken. The audio is in both Spanish and English.
There is also a lovely cafe on site and a gift shop. Another great plus is that it is right next-door to the Pedro de Osma museum making it an easily combinable afternoon adventure.
