“Interesting cultural richness”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

The first floor is one of the world's largest arms collections. It is impressive, vast and a bit overwhelming, but not in a bad way. Just so much to see! The collection of samurai swords and armor is incredible and my favorite. The basement is where the gold museum is situated and holds a vast collection of ancient gold pieces of the Incans. Also there is a inch of pottery and jewelry and tools used by the ancients. There are also a few spectacularly preserved mummies and skulls that were unlike any others I have seen before. This museum is rich in culture and worth a visit.

This private collection IS breathtaking !!!! , assembled by Miguel Mujica Gallo, contains a wide assortment of pre-Columbian gold handicraft, weapons, ceremonial objects, jewelry and gold from both the Incas and pre-Inca civilizations. It is pieces are truly breathtaking and make one happy that the conquistadors did leave some of the treasures whole and not melted into gold bullion to be shipped back.
this <Musio> also have a really nice collection of weapon !!! for those who really understand and like it.. !!!

A most to see museum. It only gets Very Good, because many artifacts shown are copies. The originals were replaced/stolen by corrupted... whoever.

“Worthwhile a visit.”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

On the first day of our stay in Lima we visited this museum.
It is recommended to go by taxi as it is not in the commercial center. The museum self is in a quit location and entrance fee is not too expensive in our opinion as there is a rich collection of archeological and historic items. After the visit, one can visit several souvenir shops.

“Sweet!”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

This is a really nice manageable museum for us at the end of our tour.
Great items -- not overwhleming. Very worth visiting. Beautiful surrounds. I would not miss it.
The collection of gold artifacts is fascinating -- a few mummies too --and wrappings that show how they were found. We were able to tackle this museum in less than an hour.
