We stayed at the Miraflores earlier this month for our wedding anniversary and have to say that the service was exceptional. The hotel is situated on a headway overlooking the Pacific ocean and has a very impressive entrance all marble floors, leather bookcases and flower arrangements BUT you could be at any hotel, there was no visible evidence of Lima or indeed Peru. A mised opportunity for displaying examples of the country's history I thought.
The breakfast room is on 11th floor next to the beauty salon and infinity swimming pool but it is only open for breakfast and you cannot have lunch there even on a sunny day.
Bedrooms are large and airy and have oxygen pumped into the rooms to help with the altitude. Comfortable beds and wonderful marble bathroom with separate shower cublicle and bath. Lovely Molton Brown shampoo, conditioner, showergel and body lotions replenished daily and 4 giant fluffly bath towels.
Food in the restaurant was very good with exceptional service but very quiet and some days we were the only couple having lunch. There is an outside patio which is screened from the road with lots of shrubs which is very pleasant and offers the same menu choice as the main restaurant. Food was extremely good especially the quality of the beef tenderloin and king fish.
If you have time during yiour stay do not miss the opportunity to have a "bath butler". We booked a massage each and returned to the bedroom to find the bath had been filled with rose coloured scented water, rose petals along the edge of the bath with lighted scented candles on the surfaces and better than that a full ice bucket containing a chilled bottle of champagne and little tray of strawberries dipped in chocolate!
Overall I could not fault this hotel, everyone was very pleasant and efficient but as I said earlier it could have been in any country in the world and lacked atmosphere, especially in the entrance.
