“Outstanding service”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

This hotel has an excellent location in a very nice neighborhood overlooking the ocean in Miraflores. It was extremely comfortable, albeit traditional in decor. The room was large and well-equipped and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. We really enjoyed the breakfast on the top floor overlooking the pool and ocean. There were many restaurants and shops nearby and it is convenient for a taxi ride to visit the historical area of Lima. Highly recommended for travel to Peru.

Beautiful hotel, well situated with fabulous ocean views, across from a beautiful park that sees much activity from people walking dogs or excerising. A 5 minute walk to the underground mall. The rooms are spacious, beautiful full marble baths will all amenities one would expect of this high class hotel. Service is attentive and efficient. Staff very welcoming and ready to serve your needs. The european style breakfast is good, but not exceptional. One speciality on the buffet is exceptional, the fried pork cubes with the crispy skin which I think is a speciality of the region. I understood from our tour agency, Aracari, that the property is no longer an Orient Express property and may not be as efficient, but I have not found that to be the case. I traveled with my adult son for our annual trip.

Room Tip: Our ocean view suite was on the 8th floor, the view marvelous.

I am somewhat of a fan of Orient Express Hotels, they have some very nice places around the globe. The Miraflores Park Hotel is however, a brand let down. Obviously it is one of the best,if not the best in Lima but it does not do justice to the Orient Express Brand. Lima is not the word's most exciting cities and the Miraflores is situated along the coast in the district of Miraflores, but if one comes to town just for a stopover and to visit the historic center of Lima, there are more convenient places, like the Sheraton.
The hardware is what is not up to par at all, more of a holiday inn Hilton calibre and not a luxury property .The staff were nice and trying hard. The Wifi connectivity is very unstable and the international TV programs so badly tuned ,the screen freezes every other minute.

Sorry Orient Express, this place needs work.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your feedback, it is very important for us.
Our property has a priviledged location for guests that love the views and want to find everything by walking distance in a safety way, as the best restaurants, galleries, shoping, Sports and the most beautiful bohemian district “Barranco” at only ten minutes by walking.
Regarding to your comments concerning the technology, we agree with you that our property needs a renovation. We have decided to remodel our property and of course will improve in latest technology, investing million of dollars in the whole project.
We are sure that you will become again our fan, when you come back after remodeling. Until then, we remain at your service.

Sincerely,

Have only been at the Miraflores Park Hotel since 2009 few times a year, and have not tried other hotels. Consider this hotel as the best hotel in Lima. The people working at the hotel are extremely nice ,very kind, always smiling and trying to help. Breakfast at the 11th floor is simply outstanding. Food at the Japanese restaurant is very good and a selection of good wines is available. Suggest you establish contact with Patricia Pinillos Guest Relations very eficient Lady.

Room Tip: You should request room with ocean views

My husband and I just got back from a 2.5 week trip to Peru. We went to the Amazon, hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, did a homestay at Lake Titicaca, saw the Sacred Valley, and went down to the Nazca Lines. We stayed in several hotels during our trip. One of my favorites was the Miraflores Park Hotel in Lima. (The other was the Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel.)

The Miraflores Park Hotel is in a very nice neighborhood that reminds me of Santa Monica, California. The hotel is within 5-10 minutes walking distance to the upscale outdoor shopping mall & restaurants, LarcoMar. You can also walk, approximately 15-20 minutes, to the Mercado del Indios (great place for souvenirs). It is a quick cab ride down to the La Rosa Nautica restaurant on the pier.

The hotel itself is very nice. The lobby is quite grand and has a pleasant scent when you enter. Service is impeccable. Upon check in you're offered rose tea. We spent two non-consecutive nights. We got very lucky our first night and were given a Junior Suite. The room was large with a sitting area. There was a separate room with a huge Roman bathtub and closet. As you walk through that room you get to the bathroom, which contains a decent size sauna. Although it didn't have a Roman tub or sauna, the regular room we got our second night was just as comfortable and clean. After some nights camping, at a homestay, or at subpar hotels, it was really nice to be able to really relax at this hotel.

Breakfast was included. It was on the 11th floor of the hotel. The views were beautiful from the dining area. Although we didn't get to use the amenities, there was a very nice pool, fitness room, and spa on this floor as well. There was a large selection of food. Plenty of hot foods, pastries, toast, cereal, etc.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that's planning a trip to Lima.

Was there in July for one night. Just nice, a beautifull hotel well located, nearby the business heart of Lima. A pitty my stay was so short, I would definitly have enjoyed staying more. I loved the little park just in front of the hotel for my morning jogging.
