Spent two nights in this hotel in August 2012, the staff were friendly, room was comfortable, and the breakfast was really good. Miraflores is a great part of Lima, I recommend this hotel to any one spending time in Lima.

The Hotel Antigua is a delightful small hotel in the Miraflors district if Lima. The staff is very helpful and knowable. There are several good restaurants near by. The shopping district ans mercado artisanal are within walking distance. After a busy day, you can relax in the I inner courtyard. We stayed 3 nights. If you arrange ahead, they will send a driver to meet the 4:40 am flight from Miami and your room will be waiting.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road

This hotel was more of a hostel. I say that because of the food and hot water. No hot water in the sink and not much in the shower. The breakfast was the only meal in Peru that we didn't like. the staff are very attentive and friendly. The location and property are very nice also, that's what balances it out to be an average rating. We would had went with a hostel for the price without hot water. It was 99$ US per night.

Room Tip: Get a room in the rear courtyard area it is very quiet.

We stayed here for 1 night at the beginning of our holiday and 1 night at the end. It's a lovely little hotel in a great location, very close to Kennedy Park and main shopping centre as well as being within walking distance of the sea and the Malecon area. Rooms are individual and we had a very large room on our second night, bed and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast is simple but adequate with fruit juice, rolls and jam and a choice of eggs with bacon or granola with banana. The hotel has two computers which are free which is a bonus and free WiFi. The sitting room is very comfortable with a good selection of chairs and sofas which was great as we weren't picked up until 7pm.

Room Tip: If you are unhappy with your room just ask for a different one, they do vary and there will be one t...

We stayed here for three nights at the start of our Peru trip and one night at the end. The rooms are, as described, simple, though the bathroom was nicely appointed. Our first stay, we were in the rear building, where the walls seemed to be thin and the hot water was not so plentiful. (Ran out after one not-long shower.) The second time, we had a room closer to the front, basically above the kitchen, and it was quieter and there was a lot more hot water. The staff here was kind and helpful, and the breakfast (included) was good. The location is convenient; we were able to walk to a number of local parks and Huaca Pucllana. They will help arrange cabs for you, but we were able to get better prices when negotiating on the corner nearby (we speak Spanish fluently, so that helped, too.)

A lovely small hotel in Miraflores. Very near the Parque Kennedy, with friendly staff and a nice feel to it. The rooms in the front part of the hotel are lovely; the one we stayed in in the back was a little musty. The free computers and sitting room feel - with all the art on the walls - was a nice touch, and made it feel very homey.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room in the front section of the hotel, rather than the back. Mustiness is a prob...

We stayed here 2 nights, in the beginning and the end of our trip which included flying in and out of Lima. It is a lovely, old building on a quiet street, close to the bustling, hip neighborhood of Miraflores. Staff were generally helpful, breakfast was good, beds and pillows were comfortable, water was hot. We had an EXCELLENT taxi driver named Jose Salinas Casanova who regularly drives for the hotel; he is also available for tours, independent of the hotel. Excellent English and very polite.

Conversely, while the front desk staff (1 or 2 people) are very helpful when they are not busy, sometimes they can be too busy to help guests who are not simply waiting to check in or out. For example, upon arriving in Lima, we needed help finding a nearby restaurant. The staff was certainly pleasant enough but they were too busy checking in a large tour group to be of much help to us. When they had time to help us the internet was down so they were still unable to help, ie, finding the telephone # to call for availability or a reservation. Limited change for tips to be obtained at the front desk as well. Wireless connection continued to be spotty at best throughout our stay.

I recommend having a dinner plan in place before arrival. If you only have one night in Lima, in would behoove you to have an idea of where you want to eat ahead of time. They suggested Alfresco, a close walk from the hotel, but we found it very overpriced and marginal at best.
