This is a very nice hotel, that must be said from the beginning, with polite staff and prompt service. There is a lingering sense of past grandeur, think Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner for example. The problem for us was that the place felt slightly outdated, and is probably best enjoyed by people 55+. The restaurant had excellent food and (almost too) good service. The room looked like a "lower-range" 4 star hotel with redecoration overdue. The bathroom was downright ugly and uninspiring. The bed and sleep quality was OK and the breakfast very good, although the breakfast room merited a thorough makeover. Altogether we felt slightly misfit, which was as much our fault as the hotels. So, this place could definitely be enjoyed by older people or those with sober/somber taste. At the moment we don´t belong in neither cathergory though.

This is a paradise, luxury hotel. You get freshly squeezed orange juice at the front desk on a silver platter with check-in, a bouquet of pink roses in the room, a bowl of fruit, snacks, water, Hermès shampoo, soaps and lotions, a personalized welcome card, full gym and workout area with a personal trainer, free headphones, outdoor heated pool and lounge area, lobby bar with a live jazz pianist in the evenings, upscale sushi restaurant, Peruvian/Mediterrean restaurant (go just for Alfonso, the best Maitre 'D in the city - ask him about presenting Gaston Acurio's food in Madrid and meeting Ferran Adria. Also go for the tiradito with amarillo chili pepper sauce, and the "chita" rockfish with cherry tomatoes, capers, pickled onions, fresh artichokes, green beans on a bed of spinach. And the layered apple dessert with dulce de leche ice cream and apple gel).

The location in San Isidro is in a growing area with great shops and restaurants - away from touristy Miraflores. And the area is so safe because it's in a guarded compound near the offices of big businesses, but in walking distance to major streets, and a quick cab ride to markets, museums, restaurants and downtown. It's definitely a business hotel, but because it's so beautiful it's used for weddings, conferences and locals have come to the restaurants for generations. The local cuisine isn't even as expensive as a lot of San Isidro, and for the quality it's worth it. No MSG in your ceviche or soup here, and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, which is rare in Lima!

Splurging on a room on the executive floor is definitely worth it. I got breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets (pasta, beef sirloin, tuna with balsamic vinegar and watercress, always with wine, juice and classic Peruvian desserts) in a dining room overlooking Lima, plus afternoon tea and evening bar service with snacks. The hotel is recently renovated and beds are incredibly comfortable. Wi-fi is fast, and there was 24 hour room service that I didn't need because of the buffets.

All the staff were great, from the desk staff to the concierge to the doorman. When I wanted a suggestion of a good place to hear local Afro-Peruvian music, I got 3 great recommendations and and offer to make a reservation for me.

I'm completely impressed and would come back here in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: The 16th floor is the executive floor, which is like a hotel within a hotel. The best service and ro...

Good, solid hotel, but seems more catered towards business travel (it's located in a small office tower compound) and not too memorable / special.
Location is alright though, a few blocks away from Avenida Conquistadores where there are shops and boutiques as well as restaurants (also try the restaurant at the nearby Huaca Pucclana ruin site, and the Rosa Nautica at the ocean).
Traveling to the historic city center is half hour or so, but that's true for all hotels in Miraflores / San Isidro, the better neighborhoods.
Do reserve the hotel pick-up from the airport, when we landed in the mid evening all the remise counters were out of private cars and we had to take a shuttle bus at nearly the same price, but which drove across town for an extra 45min to drop of other people.

Staying here was a miskate. The location is far from the action, and really bad if you are in Lima to explore the city for a few days. You end up taking a taxi everywhere. The good: the quality of the rooms and the breakfast. The bad: friendliness of staff at the reception.

We stayed at the hotel on the way to and from Cusco. On the way back, we got in at 11 and had to leave at 2am to catch and early flight. The check-in staff were quite unhelpful in the beginning and gave us a hard time about check in time. We did get the room in the end, but overall the experience of begging for a place was humiliating. That evening we asked if there was a box or some sort of breakfast we could take with us, and were told that something would be made available to accommodate us. Only to arrive at the counter at 2am with nothing to show. The reception desk staff did not apologize or remedy the situation in any way. And finally, there is a construction site right across from the odd-numbered rooms, so do not expect to sleep past 7am.

I do have to say that the concierge staff are nice and helpful and gave us good recommendations.

There are many positives about this hotel: the location is very convenient, the staff is excellent, you feel safe, and the breakfast is very good. But the rooms simply aren't great. They are pretty ordinary compared to other "luxury" hotels in Peru and elsewhere. With a makeover of the rooms, the hotel would be something more than a reliable but unremarkable option for a night in Lima.

Staff really makes you fell welcome. The hotel is in a very good location in Lima, rooms are very comfortable and even if the decor is austere, it is nice. I would surely recommend this hotel in Lima.
