This hotel has a nice location, directly across the street from the beach and mall, and is connected to a casino.

The staff are welcoming and friendly.

The internet is a bit slow at times, and the rooms were slightly smaller than I was expecting.

Nothing special in the bathroom.

The lounge was acceptable, but again nothing to brag about there.

Pool area was small, but nice.

Staff were friendly.

When I rate this as average, I mean average for a JW, obviously its quite nice compared to a courtyard, etc.

We are very sorry to hear that the internet was slow, rest assured that we will work with our systems manager to ensure we have hi speed internet at all times.

However, I am happy to hear that despite the several incidents that you experience with the room, the staff and the pool area where more accommodating and that you where able to enjoy it.

Once again, thank you for your feedback and for giving us the opportunity to know your opinion about our services.

Ocean view is a must. Excellent location, overlooking Pacific coastal mall. Concierge level manager's room have fantastic views, and good bfast & snacks. Pricey though. Concierge level brings it over the top. Private cars-taxis available, even for pick up, which makes it easy and safe.

The oceanside location is great, but the Radisson around the corner is a better value. Everything is too expensive at the Marriott, and the value isn't there. The shower stalls have mold, and for the price, one expects luxury. The restaurant is noisy--not a good choice for the travel weary, but you can ask to be served in the lounge, which is much nicer. The service is good, however. The Westin isn't next to the ocean, but if that is not an issue, it is a better value.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share with us your comments through the Trip Advisor website.

I would like to extend my sincere apologies for not being able to exceed your expectations with our hotel facilities during your recent stay. We are very sorry to hear that your shower had signs of mold; rest assured that we have reported this incident in order to take care of it immediately.

However, I am happy to hear that, the JW Sushi Ceviche Lounge was more accommodating and that you where able to enjoy it.

Once again, thank you for your feedback and for giving us the opportunity to know your opinion about our services, they serve us an invaluable tool to improve in search of the excellence.

I didn't really research Lima hotels - we just assumed that the JW Marriott would be the best hotel in town, turns out that everyone else already knows that the new Westin is nicer. The Marriott is in desperate need of a rehab. Our shower and bathroom grout were absolutely disgusting and looked as if the hotel maid had been using a dry broom instead of clorox for the last decade. Decor is 90's staid and drab and the room had that standard "never stops blowing on you" ventilation. The feather pillows were so flat I had to use 2 of them (and I never in my life have used 2 pillows). The view of the ocean is nice for the first 5 minutes and then you get over it because there's no skyline or other view on the horizon. The elevators from the ground floor to the reception lobby on 2 were unbearably slow and everytime you go to your room you have to go through the double elevator process which was kind of irritating. We had to stand in line for both check-in and check-out which was also annoying. Most high end hotels these days will give you somewhere to sit while you check-in instead of putting you in line.

The only bright spot for us was the club lounge - the food was excellent, it's recently renovated and the women who tend to it were friendly and helpful. We frequently went for both breakfast and light dinner or a quick bottle of water as it's open all day from 6am-10pm. If you stay here, definitely get this service included in your rate.

Our rate was decent so maybe JW Marriott is reducing rates knowing that what they're offering here is not that great. So just beware that you're going to get what you pay for at this hotel, not the JW Marriott 5 star name you might assume.

Room Tip: Definitely get the club lounge included in your rate - we took advantage of it day and night and for beverages. It's the best part of this hotel.

Location is excellent on coast. Easy walking up the sidewalks and parks along the coast. Upscale, discreet mall is located nearby in bluffs with nice mix of restaurants. Good proximity to neighborhoods that are safe to walk around in and explore. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable with nice view of ocean. Rates were excellent
