I was in Lima for the third time last week, and this time I stayed at the Marriott. The hotel is very impressive, with a nice lobby and great view, the rooms are large and clean, the bathrooms confortable. However, the personnel wasn't very helpful with a medical condition my colleague has, nor with a problem we had with the payments, caused by poor authorization procedures on their part. Also, asking about 15€/24h for the Internet in a 300$/night hotel feels VERY cheap. I wasn't impressed and would not recommend this hotel.

I just spent a week in Lima and enjoyed staying at the JW Marriott...although it seems to me to be more of a good business hotel than a relaxing getaway. The rooms are spacious and clean and the breakfast buffet was excellent! The fitness center may be one of the best I have encountered in a hotel...very well done indeed with new equipment. The location is convenient and a 10 minute walk from Kennedy Park. The doormen were great and always met me with a cold bottle of water when I returned from my daily run along the cliff above the beach. Hope this helps...

We stayed here as a layover between the amazon and Machu Picchu - it was a lovely hotel and we probably enjoyed it even more after being in a lodge on the amazon. It was very busy but was like all JW Marriott locations - very nicely appointed. The lobby bar was very nice, busy yet easy to relax in. We had a few issues with the concierge before our trip but once on-site, felt like she was responsive and helpful. The executive lounge upstairs was one of the best and had a great breakfast and happy hour. We needed to ship a box to the states and the staff was very helpful. The hotel overlooks the Lacomar plaza and it was nice to walk over and check out all the shops and restaurants.

I stayed at the JW Marriott after visiting Cusco. I only stayed one night, but it was a good, clean hotel in a great neighborhood. All staff were friendly and this hotel seems like a great business hotel (although I was not there on business) I appreciated their attention to detail and willingness to help. The hotel is located across from a shopping area with lots of great stores that are US and Peruvian based. Shop here for all of your alpaca products as they are 3x the price in Cusco. A throw at the mall in Lima was $85 compared to $280 in Cusco. My flight left Lima very early (7am) and the hotel staff arranged fo ra secure car to take me to the airport. As a solo traveler, I felt quite safe staying at this hotel.

We are a family of four with two adult sons so we booked two rooms. The rate of $175 per room was to die for as you know JW is the top hotel of all Marriotts.

We loved the lunch buffet served between 12-4pm. Fresh sushi, and made to order, if you prefer, which we did. Also had fresh oysters on the half shell and scallops on the half shell, to die for. Rows and rows of hot and cold food, many different varieties to choose from. Pasta station, whole fish and steaks made to order.... dessert station, especially loved the ice cream of your choice filled crepe with many toppings drizzled, etc. This was only $25 or S55. In the US, this would definitely be around $40...easy.

Do.....take your own cab to/from airport. It is only S55, vs $45 if you arrange with the hotel. We tried both so we know. If you aren't concerned about the price, then take the private limo cars the hotel has 24 hrs. a day. We were told that we could charge the ride to the hotel but when we checked out at 5am and went to the front desk, we were told to pay the driver directly. Good thing we had enough Solares left to pay him, as they don't take credit cards....

The rooms are large and roomy. Beautifully set and ask for oceanview. The bathroom is a killer! Loved the layout and shower heads galore. Thick plush towels and bathrobe and slippers available. Bed is very comfy and a big flat screened tv with many cable channels.

Breakfast isn't included unlike other Peruvian hotels, but we didn't miss it as we left so early to catch our flight and knew we could go to the airport executive lounge to eat.

My husband and sons were satisfied with their workouts at the gym.

The walk to the coastline and mall/shoppes/bars nearby.

Would definitely stay on our return next year.

Room tip: Ask for oceanview... try the lunch buffet....
