Owner description: SkyKitchen is all about Peruvian cuisine and food culture. You will learn about ingredients and the preparation of typical Peruvian dishes by preparing a 3 or 4 course meal by yourself. This is a hands-on cooking class under the instruction of one of our chefs. Enjoy your self-prepared dishes on a nice rooftop terrace overlooking Miraflores having a conversation with your fellow participants and the chef. Add a market tour to your cooking class and learn where most Peruvians get their fresh ingredients daily. Include a fruit tasting of more thank 35 fruits grown in Peru and discover lots of new flavours.

Yurac and Christian were great at teaching my group of eight about Peruvian food, why certain items are used when preparing dishes in Lima and even little tidbits like eating starch after eating something too spicy (ie. a really hot pepper). They're fun and hosting cooking in their spacious loft brings extra love to the experience. Way more personal than a cooking class at a restaurant. And they were so accommodating to my groups dietary quirks. Thank you Yurac and Christian for such a memorable experience!

We happened to come here when we had some free time during an Overseas Adventure Travel tour. The location is an immaculate penthouse with professional equipment in the Miraflores district of Lima. Yuric and Christian are perfect hosts/instructors - very patient with newcomers to food prep. It is very hands-on, and the results are very safisfying.
By the way, this is an excellent activity for solo travelers. In our group we had three young women who were travelling independently from New York, California, and France.

We booked this class at the end of our trip in Peru and that is the only negative I can think of. We would have been far more informed about Peruvian cuisine if we had taken the course at the beginning.
Christian and Yurac were very informative, their apartment is perfect for a small group, very clean. All ingredients are purchased in advance and you get to participate in the preparation of several dishes. We were fortunate to have a one to one class and therefore we prepared cerviche 3 ways. It gave us a perfect perspective on how differently one can prepare the same dish.
When we had finished our class we did not feel that we had to leave immediately, Christian took time to sit and visit with us about themselves and Peru...
We highly recommend this class if you are in the least bit into cooking and a culinary experience!

We were lucky to come here early during our travels in Peru.

This meant that not only did we have a very nice evening, but we also picked up several tips and tricks for the astounding Peruvian food scene. Useful for visitors planning to try out more restaurants in Miraflores (which is a must!).

The hosting chefs are very knowledgeable and good coaches. With the excellent preparations and careful steering I believe it is hard to fail, cooking together at Skykitchen.

Furthermore, food prepared by yourself always tastes a little better, so I believe that Christian and Yuruc have a real recipe for success here.

(in addition, they are also very nice and easygoing).

Keep up the good work guys!

I've attended culinary classes in several countries and have to say that I'm highly impressed with SkyKitchen. Where possible, opt for the morning market tour and the lunch class. Chef Yuric and his assistant, Christian are knowledgeable and attentive and have so much to share about local Peruvian cuisine on the market tour. You won't be disappointed with the colors, sights and smells on this tour. Bring your camera!

The market tour is followed by a fruit tasting session back in Chef's own penthouse apartment, where he'll point out the various local fruits, allow you to sample them and then share notes on how to use each fruit in cooking. Thereafter, you'll be led through the preparation of a three-course meal. Menus vary but we made Papa a la Huancaina, Ahi-Ahi Cerviche and Aji de Gallina. After making each course, participants sit down with Chef and Christian to sample their own cooking. I've been to several Peruvian restaurants on this trip but the food we made at SkyKitchen was by far the best. Classes are hands-on so be prepared for lots of chopping and cooking!
