Description: Saqra, from the Quechua language meaning “little devil”, “naughty” or “mischief maker”. Saqra also refers to one of the characters found in the festival of the Madonna of Carmen in the village of Paucartambo, Cusco. Here, this happy little devil wins the heart of the Madonna with his childish pranks and mischief making as he dances around her playfully in the procession. These ideas inspired the creation of Saqra as a restaurant bar that offers modern Peruvian food where we reinterpret the Peruvian identity in a playful and contemporary key, conjuring up fun and colourful results. Saqra, in essence, is not really a place but a state of mind where this little devil plays a delightful host who wants that all his guests live a unique experience, where they meet again with their the inner child, sometimes long lost.

“Great!”
Reviewed January 17, 2014 via mobile

I visited this place with my family and all the dishes were amazing. We ate chicharron de pescado, causa con pulpo a la parrilla and lomo a la pimienta molle.. all of them were very good, delicious. We were served by Vladimir.. a very friendly waiter who has a lot of knowledge about the dishes, even he recommended us all we have here (including the desserts!). If you want a great dessert, try with buñuelo de chocolate and pineapple picarones.

“Poor quality meat”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

I ordered there most expensive cut of beef. It was the worst quality of beef I have had in years. This cut of beef shouldn't have been used for any purpose other than ground for burger.

Hello Midnight Sun:
We appreciate your visit and your comment.
1. We only have 1 cut of beef. So, could only choose one.
2. This cut is prime Angus beef. Imported chilled from the US. A1 quality certified.
3. Please let us know when did you come to Saqra, so we can pin point the problem.
4. Please drop by so we can discuss your experience personally.
All the best,

“Amazing Neuvo Peruvian Culinary Experience”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

We arrived in Lima today from New York and by chance found this incredible restaurant! From the the ocean fresh ceviche, though the daily specials of Peruvian inspired oso boco, and vegetarian root vegetable creation, and the pineapple picarones with fig honey and coconut ice cream, the evening was truly memorable. Knowledgable and attentive service and ambiance -this was first class all the way, at a fraction of a comparable dining experience in the US.

“Fantastic food, lovely decor, good service.”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

We've lived in Lima two years and have been meaning to go to Saqra for some time and it did not disappoint.

The food was superb with new seasonal additions to the menu and helpful bilingual service. The terrace is lovely and (electric) candlelit.

We had portobello mushroom anticuchos which was a nice, tasty twist, aubergine terrine which was delicious and some fanstastic deserts (the banana creme brulee with coconut ice cream was heavenly).

Prices are on a par with Tanta or Panchita - food good value but the delicious pisco sours may mean the bill gets higher than you'd expected!

This is definitely a new favourite!

Hello Tom:
Thank you for stopping by.
If you liked the portobello anticuchos, you should try the Andean ratatouille panzottis. They are my new favorite.
See you soon.
All the best,
