TA HOTEL REVIEW # 192

MY TRAVEL STYLE: If possible, I try to stay away from business hotels and strongly prefer resorts that resemble the Four Seasons, Aman, and Oberoi but try to find similar properties at lower cost. I seek out the “wow” experiences.

LOCATION: We didn’t walk around but we didn’t see much outside the hotel that was of interest to tourists. Miraflores seems to be a better location. Being the tallest building in Lima makes for some nice views.

BEST WAY TO GET THERE: Private hotel transfer is $45USD+ about 20% in service fees. Taxi from the airport may be about $15USD but not as safe and the cars are not as nice as the new Audis the hotel uses.

TYPE OF ROOM: Corner executive suite.

BED/SHEETS/PILLOW: Perfect! Linens and pillows were heavenly

LIGHTING: Excellent light throughout all areas of the room.

BATHROOM/SHOWER: Beautiful and modern.

TOILETRIES: Excellent.

CLEANLINESS: Hotel is very new and spotless

A/C: Didn’t use

STYLE OF ROOM: Modern yet comfortable.

COMMON AREA: Modern and stylish… just like the pictures.

QUIET/MORNING LIGHT: Room was quiet and all morning light could be blocked.

FOOD: Breakfast for starwood platinum members was better than most other hotels and the view was amazing since nearly on the top floor of the tallest building.

TV/INTERNET: Didn’t use the TV but the internet was fast (free for starwood platinum)

SERVICE: People were very nice and service was very good.

SUMMARY: Definitely a top choice to stay but if a tourist and want a hotel in a walkable area this may not be the best choice. Other than that, this hotel will impress.

Room Tip: Higher floors have amazing views

My girlfriend and I stayed here over Thanksgiving; we expected a good hotel but got a great one! As mentioned in previous reviews, this Westin is a bit more modern the ones I've stayed in the US and Central America--feels like a W.

We were upgraded to an executive suite because of my platinum Starwood status and the room was very well appointed, with breaktaking ~180 degree views, large business area, his and hers bathroom, rainwater showerhead, full bath and walk-in closet. Executive room was spacious and had wide spacious meeting tables and a decent contintental breakfast. Staff in the Club Room were excellent.

Staff was excellent, very helpful and always pleasant (even with my halting Spanish).

Highly recommend the room service as well; we had a great great soup and salad. I was impressed to receive a well-prepared, nicely presented meal at 1am (we arrived late from the aeropuerto).

Location was fine; we walked to a drug store to pick up forgotten toiletries. Cabs were readily available at all times.

All in all, I highly recommend this hotel for both leisure and business. A step above many Westins I've stayed in.

This is a sleek & modern hotel with great service. The views from the rooms are excellent - we had a 120+ degree view of the city and surrounding mountains. The rooms themselves are plush. Food in the restaurant is high quality and the menu is diverse. Highly recommend staying here.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. We had a very nice corner room with a great view. We found the employees to be extremely friendly and helpful, going out of their way to assist us with whatever we needed. The Peruvian fusion restaurant Maras had a ravioli...pumpkin I think it was. We still dream about it. This is a much nicer hotel than the Sheraton a few miles down the road, and closer to Miraflores and San Isidro. Not as close to the historic center, but only five or six minutes further, perhaps, by taxi. Great hotel for business or pleasure.

We stayed at the Westin in Lima after a wonderful trip to Macchu Picchu. This place is all class. From the minute you walk in, you know it will be a wonderful stay.

The rooms were very clean, the room service prompt, and the employees very friendly and professional.

Will be looking forward to my next stay at a Westin!

The Westin in Lima opened this year, and surprised me with its great in-room design and attention to detail. The lobby was also very nice, although may be missing some informal seating where you can wait for someone picking you up and such.
The food was very good too, loved their Ceviche, a little pricey in comparison to local food but well that's expected in the property type.
I would totally recomend it for travel purposes. If traveling for fun, I would probably look for something with an ocean view or closer to the historic part of town.
